My friend and I shared a twin self catering room in this hotel and it was pretty much exactly what we expected for the money. It was spotlessly clean and functional for our few days in Marbella but there were not many luxeries. In the room the beds were comfortable, good powerful shower, small balcony with table and 2 chairs, basic kitchen crockery and utensils for 2 but there was no electric kettle - just a tin one to boil on the hob and the main problem was the temperature. The rooms do have air conditioning but there is no thermastat or controls, it is just operated by an on/off switch on the wall by the door. It was efficient for cooling the room quickly but at night we were constantly having to get out of bed to switch between it being on and off i.e. boiling or freezing. The communal areas of the hotel were not air conditioned and unbearably warm. The roof terrace is a nice little sun trap with views over the old town round one side and the sea on the other and there were plenty of loungers for everyone but the pool is very small so not really any good for swimming lengths. I would not recommend having lunch in the restaurant, I ordered a chicken sandwich and was disappointed to receive 2 slices of sliced white bread filled with predominantly mayonnaise with a few chunks of grey looking chicken through it. However it was fine for a Sprite and a plates of fries as a snack. A great perk of this hotel is it's location though, you are within 5 or 10 mins walk of loads of highly rated restaurants. Ultimately you get what you pay for with added points for location.

Just returned from 4 nights last week at Princesa Playa. The hotel is excellently located in Marbella, right on the beach front and only 5 minutes walk from the old town which is full of lovely eateries and narrow alleyways. Check in was smooth and whilst the receptionist laughed when we asked for a sea view (as everyone wants one), he did his best to accommodate us and gave us a partial sea view which was fine. Our room was located on the third floor which was accessed via a rather hot and small lift. In fact all of the common areas in the hotel, bar the reception, were very hot and appeared not to have any form of air con or ventilation. Our twin room was clean and comfortable, with a small kitchenette, dining table plus furniture on the balcony. We rented a safe for the four days we were there (having seen reports on here of theft) and for only EUR11 this was worth it. My only issues with this hotel was that the room was uncomfortably warm at night. Yes there was air con but it was old and therefore noisy, and lacked any form of thermostat therefore it was a toss up between trying to get some sleep in a boiling room or being kept awake by the air con. Sleeping with the balcony door open wasn't good either as it was near a main road therefore noisy again. This would be my only negative about the room. The cleaners do not wash any dirty cups, so you will either need to take washing up stuff with you or get it from the local supermacado (located just a few minutes walk away). The snack bar on the roof top is fine if you are starved and just want a plate of chips, but the sandwiches we ate were cheap sandwich fillings and there are far better options just moments from the hotel. Pool small but clean and sufficient loungers. Over excellent value hotel which was in a perfect location for us. There is a bus stop just round the corner which takes you to PB for just over EUR1. Bargain! Just a small note on the beach outside the hotel - it's pretty filthy. The sand is quite gritty in this area of Spain anyway, but there was litter everywhere and the sea was also rather unpleasant with a number of sanitary items being spotted whilst we made our brief visit. I would recommend travelling down to PB for a nicer beach if that's what you want. Hotel was fine and did what is said on the tin.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view when booking and then ask again at check in however be aware that they are very popular.

Absolutely perfect in every way. Rooms are modern and spacious with everything that you could wish for. A friend and I stayed for 5 nights, our first time to Marbella and it was fantastic! Staff were really helpful, great big rooms with cooking facilities and a fridge, lovely bathroom and lot of hanging space in the wardrobes too. Great to stay somewhere with a full length mirror and plug sockets near to the mirror too! Ideal location for beach holiday or lazing by the pool and short walk to local bars, restaurants and shops. Definitely recommend :-)

My wife and I stayed here in April for a short cheap break and for the price we couldn't have asked for any better. The hotel is perfectly located on the front and a five minute walk to the old town church. It's a bit of a nightmare if you have a car to park however there are underground car parks around at reasonable prices. The hotel itself was spotlessly clean and the cleaning staff themselves could not have been nicer, always saying hello and smiling! The rooms are of a reasonable size with good bathroom facilities and a good size balcony for sitting out with a wine. The kitchenette was stocked with everything you could need however the only things we used where the bottle opener and glasses. The rooftop pool was clean and has a fantastic view as it was April I didn't actually get in as am a wuss haha. We didn't eat breakfast here as we prefared to go to a local coffee shop but the resturant, again on the top floor looked clean and the staff where again friendly. I would return to this hotel in a heart beat, it's not the most swanky hotel in the area but it suited our needs and budget perfectly!

We stayed at the Princesa Playa at the end of Aug beginning of Sept. The hotel is situated right beside the sea and just a short stroll from the beautiful old town. The room was spacious and very clean.Maid service was on a daily basis who were very efficient. We found the pool to be entirely to our liking. Very quiet place to go and sunbathe. The views from the pool and restaurant were stunning. We used the restaurant only a couple of times for lunch, but ate out every night as there are plenty of places to choose from nearby. The staff were very friendly to us all the time. We checked out at 11.30 and our pick up time for the airport was not until 6.30. We got to put our luggage into a secure room and could use the hotel facilities for the rest of the day. The room also had a shower that we got to use. All this at no extra cost to us. All in all we found this hotel to be excellent value for money and would thoroughly recommend it.
