“Second visit to this hotel.....”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 5, 2012

Was our second visit at this hotel...e-mailed he hotel asking for a seaview studio as did not get one on our previous visit even though we did email...We did not get one again so was a little disapointed..Was given a one bed apartment with a view of an apartment block ahead.
Felt the hotel had dropped slightly in standards since last time think it was mainly due to the rooms being dated and our leaky toilet which gave the bathroom a slightly strange smell...Not sure whether it was down to the major floods which we were unfortunate to have for the full three days of our visit..but hey not reviewing the weather!!
Reception staff still excellent...breakfast still the same...NO CAVA!! Did not use the pool due to bad weather or the outdoor breakfast area..Would visit again ...but maybe try another beach front hotel next time for a change.

Room Tip: Email for a sea view ....but do not hold your breath!!!

Stayed here last week in September and found it to be a good adequate hotel.
Agree with all the recent posts. Comfortable, clean hotel that works well if a little dated. Rooms were good but nothing special. Small but pleasant roof top pool with adequate sun beds during our stay. Good wi fi in reception area. Main concern before arrival was car parking - but in end not a problem. There are two car parks close to the hotel. The one right beside/underneath the hotel looks pretty basic / a bit rough. However, since it was only the car that was staying there I used it and got a week long pass from cashier for 12 euro per day. Cashier is beside exit on -2 level. Hotel in excellent location for easy access to Old Town and right on the beach / seafront promenade.

Friendly, comfortable and great location just a shame that you cannot reserve a front sea view room. I requested one at time of booking and again by email, but unfortunately there was not one available at the time of our arrival - it is a chance you take. The view from inside our room was of a neighbouring apartment block, although when on the large balcony there was a side sea view - just not the same though. I would have paid more to guarantee a front sea view room. Go to this hotel if you are not too bothered about the view.

We booked in here by just turning up at the front desk. The rooms are small and fairly basic but were clean and, for us, did the job. The rate we paid was a reasonable 80 Euros inclusive of breakfast for two. The overall area looks in need of some work. Free Wifi was available in the reception area.

Room Tip: Request a higher floor. Our traveling partners were on the first floor and experienced a lot of noi...

Fab hotel, very central to everything. Yes, pool small but never overcrowded and also ample to dip in and out of to cool down. Stunning views as it's on the 9th Floor. Small cafe/bar open until 4pm but there is no problem about taking your own drinks up there, just no glasses which is fair enough, you could buy plastic cups from local supermarket which, incidentaly, is open from 8am - 2am every day and just around the corner. I self catered for the whole week as on my own and I found the kitchen a good enough size to do this. The apartment itself was big with a nice balcony as well. The shower is the best I've ever used on a holiday. Cleaning done every day and the staff there very helpful. The free wifi in the reception is a definite bonus. I changed my hotel at the last minute and was very pleased that I did. Would recommend this to singles/couples/families.

We booked 4 twin rooms (two per room) for a hen party at the Princesa Playa. Although the actual journey to the hotel from the airport/bus station was much longer than expected- I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel itself once we had arrived.

No problems with check in, we crammed into the tiny lifts to the 1st floor. We unfortunately weren't able to get 1 of the 4 rooms on the same floor which was a shame, but not a huge problem. The rooms were clean, not the most modern but the decor was as expected for a typical Mediterranean hotel.

It was nice to have the small dining table/chairs, fridge and microwave in the room. It definitely made it more homely and also meant we were able to stock up from a local supermarket. The balcony area was also great to have. The only two minor complaints are that we did not have an iron in the room and the shower drainage seemed a bit clogged.

We were a little surprised to see how small the pool was- however as we are on a beach front and have access to various other beach areas, it was put into context as not really worth knocking points off for! The sun bed area around the pool was adequate, not the largest area in the world but, but we never had problems getting sunbeds for 8 of us! A big bonus to this roof top area is the view.

I really only had a coffee in the hotel restaurant (7th floor). I sat with some of my friends while they ate and not only did the food look great but everyone said it tasted good too.

Overall the Princesa Playa was a definite, well kept 3* hotel. The only reason I wouldn't stay there again would be if I wanted to be much closer to the night life areas- not for anything negative about the hotel experience itself.

Location of this hotel is perfect, not that expensive but the hotel is a bit outdated. Aircondition was working but it was very loud and the next doors air con sound was hearable to our room. One day our room wasn't cleaned because we were in our room for siesta. We were away from our room from 9-15 and put the sign out to clean our room but no.
