Iberostar Marbella Coral Beach

We have just returned from a week at this hotel, the first time in the region for us. Hotel very friendly, clean, quiet, food very good and most of all, friendly staff. We loved the late evening dinners, when the subtly lit dining room was peaceful. Our room, a standard room with a view of the gardens, was large and very comfortable with a bathroom to match. Sadly I had to write a critical review of a 5 star hotel in Gran Canaria last January but everything was so different in the Coral Beach. We would use an Iberostar hotel again.

Room Tip: We would avoid a pool view as the terrace bar area is poolside and can be noisy. Garden rooms such...

We have just returned from a week long stay at the Iberostar Coral Beach and had a really great time. I agree with other reviewers in that the hotel is looking a little tired now but it has been well maintained and the staff were completely fantastic and very helpful. We had a lovely side sea view room which was clean and tidy (but dated), whilst our sons were across the hall, their room was nice but needed some maintenance. The pool and gardens are lovely and no scramble for sun beds in the morning as there are plenty. You can pay to have a sun bed with a sea view at the near by beach club but we felt it was too expensive to do this every day for the 4 of us. The breakfast was AMAZING! so much choice and constantly replenished. Definately try the wonderful omelettes by the lovely chef who was always smiling! Shame the restaurant is in the basement as it was quite dark (not helped by the colour choice on the walls), we may have chosen to have an evening meal here but preferred to make the most of the warm evenings and sit above ground. Just one small criticism - trying to find the restaurant on the first morning was really tricky as we were on the opposite wing of the hotel - please Iberostar - more signs on the walls as you descend the stairs so you at least know you are going in the right direction (if you use the lift you'll be fine). The location of this hotel is perfect - the 15 minute stroll along the beachside promenade to puerto banus is just lovely.
All in all I would definately recommend this hotel - great staff, fantastic breakfast, perfect location for two adults needing some relaxtion and two teenagers needing some night life.

Room Tip: The side sea view rooms are definately worth while.

We are just back from our trip 22-31 August to the Marbella and Puerto Banus area. This time we had chosen the Marbella side of Puerto Banus which we did not regret. We stayed in a nice superior room with a terrace overlooking the pool. We were a bit worried that we would be disturbed by noise from the pool, but this was not the case. The room was just as niced as it looked in the picture (maybe even nicer). The food was very good. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide selection of dishes for every taste. We had booked a room with the bed and breakfast option, but it was possible to upgrade to halfboard, fullboard or all inclusive and it was also possible to buy a meal from the lunch or dinner buffet or the a la carte restaurant at the beach club belonging to the hotel. We tested both the beach club and the dinner buffet and found that the buffet was OK for getting a good meal for a reasonable price, but the beach club is the place to go if you want to enjoy a very good lunch or dinner with the best local dishes.

The location of the hotel is perfect, right on the beach, a twenty minutes walk to Puerto Banus and a 10 minutes taxi ride to Marbella. The airport at Malaga is only 45 minutes away if you get one of the low flying taxi drivers.

One of the best memories from our trip is the friendly atmosphere at this beautiful hotel. Everybody is smiling and is looking happy. They really make an effort to make you feel welcome and comfortable. A typical example is the girl serving vegetables at the flamenko and grill party at the beach club. She answers every request with a smile and "no problem".

The only thing we did not like with the hotel is that you have to pay extra for use of the safe installed in the room. You also have to pay for using the WiFi in the hotel. 30 minutes a day is free if you go and sit in the bar, but that is worth nothing since the bandwith is low and the procedure for logging on and opening a session is very complicated and it times out after some minutes inactivity. Here is room for improvement!

If we look at everything our opinion of the hotel is very POSITIVE and we would like to go back there another time.

This was our third trip to Marbella and the Puerto Banus area. Having stayed at the Iberostar Grand in Punta Cana on a number of occasions, we decided to try their hotel in Marbella. It turned out to be a wise decision. We had a lovely, comfortable junior suite, overlooking the pool and a wiew of the sea. We opted to get their "all inclusive plus plan", which gave us unlimited food and drinks for the seven days that we were there.
We found that the locatiion was convenient to the center of Puerto Banus. About 15 minutes along a lovely walk along the water. There is a seperate beach club, if the pool is not satisfactory, or to your liking. We also found that they had more than enough lounges, and couches, by the pool that one did not have to get up at dawn to reserve a pool spot.
All of the staff that we came in contact with, were more than helpful, and were willing to go that little extra to make your stay a pleasant one.
Their restaurrant is buffet style with an excellent variety of dishes for every palate. If you don't see it, they are also willing to whip it up for you, if it's available.
We found the hotel had an excellent staff, excellent accomodations in their junior suites, excellent service, excellent location to Puerto Banus, excellent food, and most important, excellent price for "all inclusive".

Room Tip: Upper floors have better view of the sea.

The hotel is really the most beautiful one on the whole costline !! POSITIVE : It's on the beach, has 2 pools one in the beach house and the other in the hotel area ( both outdoors ). It's so clam and clean and the employees are very nice and helpful !! The breakfast is amazing, anyone can find something they might like. The location is also great because its between the Marbella old town and the Porto Banus !! The beach is breathtaking and its near a banana/jet ski/etc.. place. NEGATIVE: Its expensive and you have to pay to everything. I mean they charge you per 10 min for the internet ! who does that ?! I've never seen a hotel where you have to pay for the facilities like that. Sun beds, sauna, jacuzzi .... but other then that it was an amazing experience. If i ever went to Marbella again i would go back to that hotel !

We stayed here 20-24th August and had an amazing time. Yes the hotel is expensive BUT great food, service, people and a fabulous room. We upgraded to a Junior suite which was well worth it, it was spacious and of god quality, overlooking the pool and a sea view.

The pool area was nice and clean and the water perfect temp, there did seem to be a lot of towels just placed on the sun beds but no people.

The room and food made it a great holiday for us

Room Tip: I would recommend paying the extra for a Junior suite

Travelled to Marbella for my honeymoon and was devastated by the Iberostar Marbella Coral Beach hotel.

For €1348 for 6 nights, this was a terrible deal.

I will start with the positives. They are:

Good breakfast, a great variety to choose from
Good location from Puerto Banus (15- 20 minute walk)

The negatives are:

First room I was given was terrible (old furniture, poor shower, small and dirty) and I booked 3 months in advance. After complaining I was moved to another room, which was a smoking room as no non-smoking rooms were available, this to was disappointing.

It DOES NOT have a private beach
EVERYTHING is charged separately; sun beds, sauna, jacuzzi, wifi and even the safe!
The beach was disgusting, dark sand, pebbles and jellyfish
Sauna and jacuzzi close at 7pm and is €10 per person per day. This is the first time i have had to pay extra to use a hotels facilities as a GUEST

Dear guest,

First of all we want to congratulate you with your wedding and thank you very much for sharing your opinion in Tripadvisor, we strongly believe that listening to our guests is the clue to success. Please accept our most sincere apologies for not being able to fulfill your expectations.

It is unfortunate to hear you got the feeling that we just want to make money from anything, so please allow us to explain why these extra charges exist. We want to be able to offer a wide choice in disposable services, but as we have studied the needs and desire of the average guest that visits us, we know that not all of them are willing to spend on items they consider unnecessary. Therefore we established the method and policy of adjusting the price to the basic needs, while offering the possibility to amplify according to personal wishes and preferences. Like this everybody is welcome to decide for themselves which services they want to enjoy and pay for. We hope that this explanation clears the doubts you had, but we stay at your entire disposal for any further enquiry you might have on this or any other issue related to the planning of your next holidays with Iberostar.

Regarding the room we would like to point out that we have different types and rates at disposal and we can only say we feel sad about your disappointment. For coming occasions, we would like to offer you a very personal booking guidance through our call center, to make sure you become what you actually desire. Nevertheless we are pleased to read that when you informed our reception about your discomfort you were very well attended by our reception staff that despite the high occupation during summer holidays, achieved to assign you a different room to ensure you were more comfortable. This demonstrates the Iberostar philosophy, always striving to satisfy our guests.

Further on we are sorry that the public beach by the hotel was not of your liking, although it is enjoyable to read that the location could largely satisfy your expectations.

Last but not least, we want to thank you for high lightening the quality and variety of the breakfast. In Iberostar Marbella Coral Beach we do our utmost to guarantee that the culinary efforts of our gastronomical department delight all palates, and we feel satisfied that you enjoyed this part of your stay.
