stayed for 1 week with a friend after reading all the reviews for marbella hotels, the hotel is perfect, clean and modern, could be a 5 star, the buffet food was the best i've ever had, we were all inclusive so all drinks cocktails etc. The service was great and helpful, especially Christian the pool guy who told us all the information we needed to know, he was extremely helpful. The pool was freezing but what can you do! We walked to Puerto Banus in the day as a 10 minute walk along the beach, great as otherwise we'd have got no excersize! But we caught cabs in the evening (heels) and that was only a E7 Euro ride approx. We will be going back! very comfy beds

Room Tip: Choose a room overlooking pool.

Very good holiday had here, spaceous, clean room with comfortable beds and view of pool and sea. Food was excellent with very good choices. Staff pleasant and helpful and engaged with holidaymakers. Those on "All inclusive" spoke very positively and said it was one of the best value for money aspects of this hotel.
Lovely location close to the front and Puerto Banus about a 20 minute walk along the coastal road for those who are ambiant, taxis quickly booked if required by reception, local buses run along front of hotel to Marbella or Puerto Banus.
No local shops close by within walking distance, so need to rely on hotel for extras if only bed and breakfast. Pleasant staff who encouraged holidaymakers to partake of daytime activities in and out of the pool.
Especially enjoyed trips out to Marbella Center "Orange Square" where lots of clothes shops for the ladies and lovely outdoor restaurants serving lovely fresh food.
Would definately return to this Hotel/location.

Room Tip: You are advised to ensure that you book the type of view as there are rooms which look out onto side...

First impressions of this recently refurbed hotel were favourable – helpful check-in staff.

That said, when we arrived it was impossible to get a snack or bite to eat at 3.30pm as the main pool bar as it was unmanned.

We went to The Beach Club Sea Sole attached to the hotel and it looks great. The time was now 3.45pm but we were advised we could not eat in the sun and had to move inside to eat and that the restaurant was closing at 4pm!

Who wants to be forced inside on a nice sunny day after you’ve been stuck on a plane for 3 hours? Hence, we just ordered drinks.

The drinks took 20 minutes to come! I’ve heard of ‘mañana mañana’ - but come on. Still no one at the main pool snack bar either. The hotel is losing sales here!

Hence, to be able to eat, we had to catch a taxi to the old town of Marbella. Within 1 minute of arriving at a less than chic port side restaurant we were given fresh crusty bread, green olives & a glass of rose wine followed by great tapas.... good service is not so hard. This 4 star hotel could learn from this.

The rooms were more than adequate – all white marble with comfortable beds and power shower over a bath. Black out blinds a bonus too. There was a great choice of things to eat and drink at breakfast – with slick service too.

I took advantage of the Spa – the masseuse Sol is a miracle worker – one of the best massages I’ve ever experienced – ironed out a few knots!

On a Sunday at 10.45am – again the main pool snack bar – we were told by reception it opens at 10.30am yet at 10.45am, even though there was a barmen he said ‘we are shut - am sorry sir’ – a really poor show again. A 4* hotel - that can’t serve cold drinks in summer? How very odd!

A pleasant stay and the hotel is reasonably priced.

This hotel isn’t in Puerto Banus nor the main part of Marbella so does feel a bit ‘stuck in the middle’ – taxis are required but there are plenty outside.

The slow and quirky service (or complete lack of) around the two pool areas lets this hotel down. The Spa, restaurant staff and reception need to train their colleagues up to their standard.

Room Tip: We were on lower ground floor - the waterfall features are great if you look the sound of waterfalls...

The layout of the hotel makes the bang of room doors closing reverberate through the multi level atriums. Add in the cacophony of early morning garden blowers and sleep is near impossible.
There are no walk in showers so if you are old or 'merry'/hung over you have a potentially dangerous and slippery task of climbing into a bath to shower. This is made more hazardous by the door stop sticking up under your floor towel. I am fit and able but this is just wrong. Who goes to the Costa for a bath.
Trying to have a siesta was ruined by vacuum cleaner with unoiled squeaky wheels.
The pool area needs more pool and sun beds and less Koi carp ponds.
Smoking is encouraged on patio (best position with prevailing wind blowing smoke straight onto non smokers)
The staff are dedicated but the building needs sorting.

First of all we want to apologize for all the inconveniences you had during your stay. We are very sorry to hear that we could not fulfill your expectations

The head departments involved have been informed about your comments. We will certainly take in our consideration and we will do our utmost to improve these points. Feedback like yours is very important to us, so we know what we can improve to reach an even higher and more exclusive service for our guest.

Some of the problems you mentioned are totally under our standards and we have already taken action in order to meet our standards again. Your comment will certainly help us to keep focus on customer satisfaction and fulfillment of our hotel standards.

We know how uncomfortable is when you are a not smoker and you have smokers around. Our hotel has separate areas for smokers. The main restaurant is a not smoking area like also the reception area. We have also “No smoker” rooms with a sign in each room. The Shows take place in the bar, where is allowed to smoke. We do our best to make our guest to respect the no smoking areas.

It is very important for us that our guests feel welcome and comfortable within the whole hotel area and we feel sorry to read that didn´t succeeded.

The hotel is located probably in the best part of Costa del Sol, between Marbella and Puerto Banus, in a quiet secluded beach location with a busy but such a beautiful road passing in front of the hotel, packed with all kind of restaurants, bars and shops one would think they are targeting the quite well off. You find lots of other hotels on this road, all surrounded by lush gardens or orange trees with lots of singing birds day and night.

The hotel backs onto the beach, separated only by a small road used by the owners of flats nearby and where the hotel underground car park is. You have the Beach club there with a wonderfully built café, sun lounges, a small swimming pool with a pedestrianised walk separating it from the beach where further sun lounges are. The pedestrianised walk itself runs from Puerto Banus to Marbella and what a great idea was to actually bring my running kit as is being used by other fellow runners, cyclists, people walking the dogs or Police to protect the above; you can also walk and admire the splendid views over the sea or inhale the air packed with all kind of jasmin, orange flavours early in the morning and coming from the very well maintained gardens of Puerto Romano and other hotels.

The hotel itself has two wings, each wing having a long internal courtyard with glass ceiling (so the rooms will either be facing the middle of the hotel where the swimming pools are or the gardens located east and west of the hotel) and the most amazing internal plants and having long aquariums packed with beautiful exotic fishes. The hotel kept my details requesting a room on the top floor facing East and room 307 had the sun knocking at my window every morning with birds singing throughout the night, wonderful views south, towards the sea and north, towards the mountains. I guess most of the rooms, except the junior suites, have the same architectural design with a hallway leading towards the main room and then balcony. Off the halway, there is a large bath with double sinks with toilettries, a bath to one side and a little area separating the WC and bidet.

But most amazingly, I have to praise the hotel Reception Manager or maybe the hotel Management itself for doing such a great job: all the waiters smile and wish you a good day, they are happy and welcoming starting from the morning, in the breakfast area located on the lower ground floor that leads to the bar area and two swimming pool reachable before you pass the little swimming pool packed with exotic fishes and turtles, up to late at night. It was my first experience when actually Reception staff never forget different issues and call you straight away to let you know their findings and how they dealt with the problem: whether is smoke coming in the middle of the night from some 4 floors below you!!!!!!!!!! Or making enquiries in your behalf. My deal included breakfast which I highly recommend and located on the lower ground in a Moorish or Andalucian style room with a little fountain disturbing the peace, or some mad woman tourist taking pictures of everything!!!!!!!!! Also they graced me with a free drink in the Beach Café area and with free Late Departure as they could see how the sleepless nights were affecting me.

Tips:
- book your shuttle bus some 48h in advance at www.atobtransfers.com for 21 pounds (they give you a Spanish number to be in touch with the office there), as they are the only ones to do hotel drops as opposed to other shuttle bus companies (charging some 17 pounds) that drop you at Marbella or Puerto Banus bus stop (Marbella bus stop was very elegant and well organised) from where you have to take a taxi (some 6 euros from Puerto Banus or 10 euros from Marbella bus stop to my hotel). I was fortunate to actually have a taxi from atobtransfers taking me to the hotel in some 45min and not dropping other tourists, as apparently they normally do; which is anyway better than paying a taxi some 70 euros for this trip.
- bring your own tourist kettle if you fancy a cuppa, also you might consider a small iron if you do not want to ask the hotel for one. Most essentially bring some sleepers as the room floors can be very cold and immediately make you very sick, the way it happened to me and gave me sleepless nights despite the hotel trying their best to improve my stay
- you can buy small bottles of water, diet coke etc at 1 euro each on the beach road but for say conditioner (which the hotel does not have) the nearest place would be in Corte Ingles in Puerto Banus
- despite what you hear around, Puerto Banus’s Beach road (also reachable by a wonderful 10min walk on the sandy beach) has great bars and cafes packed with European tourists at the weekend as is too expensive for the locals, so bring a glam dress and head there for a 20 euros great meal, some 10 euros amazing cocktails, but prepare to be chased around by some sports cars or even a Mercedes Phantom, ha ha
- for a typical Gypsy Flamenco show, go to Marbella old town at Flamenco Ana starting around 10.45pm and lasting some 90min priced 25 euros which includes a drink (cocktail, sangria etc) per person. Before that, you can wonder the little streets reminding me of Seville’s old town and squares where other tourists eat the highly priced and not very good quality meals.

I can confidently say, the success of my trip can be attributed to the excellent Reception staff as, however well you organise your trip unplanned things will always happen, so due to it's location and staff, this is a hotel I WILL RETURN TO.

Room Tip: Send your requests to the hotel. They do pay attention to a visitor's needs.

We booked five nights at short notice through Jet2 holidays and thought the price very reasonable. We were happy with our room on the 3rd floor - not brand new but atttractive soft furnishings and plenty of room. The terrace had a pool and sea view so we were happy. Food was a buffet and had a great choice of tasty, albeit fairly plain food. I hate putting on weight on holiday and was able to fill up on delicious fruit and veg and felt very satisfied. The pool area was lovely with plenty of room and comfortable loungers and a quiet relaxed atmosphere. The staff and the service they gave us were excellent. They were unobtrusive, cheerful, efficient and polite in all areas of the hotel and really made the holiday for us. The only problem we had was that the weather was quite cool for some of our stay and the hotel felt cold, particularly the restaurant. Once the weather improved this was no longer an issue. We would be very happy to return and would recommend this hotel for a short break.

Just returned from 4 night stay. We booked a junior suite and arrived around 1am in the mornng. The suite itself looked lovely from the inside but out on the balcony we could see and hear the traffic from the main road. My partner not impressed by this went straight back to reception and asked for a sea view suite. We were upgraded to a senior suite with terrace overlooking the sea, jacuzzi, sunbeds, table and chairs erc... Fabulous! V comfy bed, lovely bathroom, twin sinks and jacuzzi bath. 3 sets of patio doors leading onto terrace. Breakfast food was good.. apart from cold plates so food was cold when you got it back to your table and no tea coffee making facilities in room. Drink prices seems reasonible in hotel for Marbella. Never had a problem parking and staff v friendly. Maid service was spot on, and even came of an evening when we were out to leave fresh towels, turn down the bed and leave chocs on the pillow.

Room Tip: Ask for sea view as traffic at front of hotel seems to be busy all day and night.
