Came for meal based on recommendations from our hotel. Arrived late around 10pm and the restaurant was packed, definitely a good sign. Staff was friendly and cleaned a table for us to sit. We weren't terribly hungry so we ordered two entrees and one main plate to share. The foie appetizer was not superb in flavor but was a significant portion size. We got the special shrimp appetizer which was fried in pastry skin, was obviously with Asian influence and came with 4 medium size prawns for 15e. Got the Argentinian sirloin main, cooked well. Finished with the ice cream, the raspberry sorbet was excellent. 2 glasses of house wine at 5e each (kinda pricey) and bill came to 80e. Overall satisfactory, but felt a bit pricey for the food quality. Definitely had meals just as good for less than half the price all over Spain.

Casanis is a great little place in Marbella. Not exactly Spanish but full of warm Spanish staff and friendly owner, Guy. The menu and kitchen is mostly French/Belgium style cooking but with local ingredients and in a charming little Spanish house covered in art with an open atrium and outdoor tables in the street. Found it by mistake and realized it was related to a wonderful restaurant on the other side of the ocean La Tapa in St. John USVI. Looking forward to trying their other restaurant in Marbella, Casa Mono. Have the Tuna Tar Tar and any Beef dish. Also saw some pretty famous Futbol player having a good time there and this place goes pretty hard when it's someone's compleanos.

I can only agree with the other reviewers. I had steak tartare, it was good, but without egg yolk. That disappointed me. So remember to ask for the egg yolk!!
They have crayons on the table, so you can lure you inner artist out as you wait for the food. Very charming waiters/owners - they are from Belgium, actually.
Charming interior, very French-ish, say norther European-ish, not exactly Spanish.
We recommend it highly.

We had visited Casanis before and now we went back with the four of us. We had made reservations and that's well recommended. Atmosphere in the restaurant is great. Service more than good enough despite the fact we were on the upper floor (try to sit downstairs). The food is really excellent. The steak is indeed very good but the menu is also more innovative. Great experience.
