During our recent trip to Andalucia we ate twice at the Taberna del Pintxo, once in Puerto Banus, then again in Marbella, as the experience and the food were so great!
Concept: they walk around and offer different tapas on a plate, and the clients just choose whichever they like. Based on the choice, there are different prices for the tapas...expl. 'sword', 'heart', short skewer, etc.
Staff: The quality of the staff is excellent, they really enjoy 'selling' their tapas to the guests, and have a good atmoshpere among themselves.
Food: most importantly, the quality of the food and the size, and presentation of the Tapas was just overwhelming, and one can hardly stop to eat. We liked every single choice.
On top, they offer a special wine of the week, and we highly recommend to just order such a bottle for two as it is the perfect match to your meal.
The place in Marbella was full when we stayed there, and every table which got free was quickly filled again with already waiting guests. Great atmoshpere.
Simply enjoy !!!

There are 3 of these, Puerto Banus, Marbella and Fuengirola. The one in Puerto Banus is very busy in the summer but quiet out of season. The Marbella one is busy all year round, but go after 8pm for the best experience.

I love these places, the choice of tapas is great, lots of different things coming out hot every 5 minutes. You can get pintxos (bread with toppings) cold from the bar and choose what you want. These are delicious, with generous toppings. You can get a whole cod loin on bread for €2! The salmon and caviar is lovely and again very cheap. All pintxos are €2 or less, but you can get dishes ordered from the kitchen if you prefer. You pay per skewer or mini sword and some items are just €1.25,

The hot food is great, such a choice. The evenings are definitely the time to go as, depending on the waiter, you get real theatre and can have a really fun evening where you have no idea what you're going to eat until it comes out.

Afternoons are quiet so don't go between 3 and 7 unless you want a quiet, quick, cold eat and a drink, which we still do sometimes. Also go after 1pm as they don't bring hot food out before then.

Really like it here and hope to go many more times. There aren't really any good Spanish restaurants in the Port so if you fancy Spanish, go here. It's behind Hard Rock off the main square.

If it's a special occasion they make a big fuss and will give free drinks to the group and sing to you.

Well worth a visit.

nice cozy place, good selection of tapas. You get full quickly (too much bread). very good house wine (Anares). Prices are average (average 1.75 euro per tapas). Definitely a repeat.

small tapas sized portions are brought around each table for you to choose from. Every portion has a different skewer and at the end your skewers are totalled up and charged accrodingly.
Our table had around 24 pintxos and 4 glasses of wine and the bill came to 40 euros.
It is located on quite a busy street which is excellent for sitting outside and watching the world go by.
The staff are all really attentive and teh food is delicious!

This restaurant is very popular with tourists and locals. It provides a genuine Spanish experience. You can choose to pick and choose your tapas dishes as they are brought round the tables by staff, and/or you can order full main courses - ribs, chicken, steak, prawns etc. We chose to order a main course and also try out some of the tapas dishes. But the tapas on their own would have been more than sufficient.

The place is always packed at night and has a great atmosphere. It feels much more 'authentic' than many of the nearby tourist restaurants. I'd highly recommend it for the experience but get there reasonably early (before 8pm) to get a seat.

The staff are very friendly and full of character.
