Spent 2 nights here with 4 rooms for the family including a junior suite. Service was very accomodating. The bed was large and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. The only issue is whoever designed their showers needs to learn about the wonders of caulk. The showers are leaky at the seals to the floor but that is the tiniest of gripes. Otherwise, very good hotel and way better than most of the miserable excuses for hotels in Spain.

We stayed here at the height of the volcano/ash air crisis so the hotel staff were dealing with a number of "refugees". They dealt with it excellently and were really helpful and sympathetic to everyone's situation. They allowed us provisionally to book a few more nights without commitment whilst we worked out what to do - took away a lot of stress. The rooms and decor were fantastic - really funky and well thought out. Great internet access. It's a little out of town but perfect for transit, being right next to the train and bus stations. The bar downstairs looks amazing - really whacky and different. However, it does not work! The slide down from the first floor which is a really interesting installation means the bar is effectively a childrens' play area with no limit - they were still going at midnight - shouting and screaming and making the bar area really unusable - please have a curfew at 10.00. Also, the bar was cold as it is effectively a lobby area and therefore impersonal. And it needs a BAR!! There is no obvious place to place orders and the bar staff seemed to have to deal also with room service so were away for half an hour or more. Also whilst I was there a lady tripped over the fancy flooring (which we had commented the day before as probably not being allowed in the UK as there was a drop with no notice) and really hurt her ankle. Would definitely go back.

Was only there overnight so can't comment on a lot but can say the location next to the high-speed railway station is fantastic!
The front desk staff was terrific...very helpful.
From the lobby to the hallways to the rooms...all are done in a very funky but tasteful style.
I will have to go back one more time to try the lobby slide ;-)

My husband and I stayed at the Barcelo for one night, it was a spur of the moment visit as we had been to the Sierra Nevada skiing but the weather was so awful we drove to Malaga for the final day! We drove round Malaga for about ten minutes then spotted the Barcelo the hotel was very big and imposing with its own drive and parking, so we just drove in and wandered in. The staff were very friendly, and offered us the best rate available which was 90 euros, which for a city centre hotel, just walking in i think was very reasonable!!!

The hotel makes a great first impression it is very modern, funky and clean! Our room was really cool, lovely bathroom with Villeroy and Boch fixtures and Fittings, there was really retro furtiture and the bed was absolutely MASSIVE!

The hotel is really accessbile- right next to the train station, and you cant hear a peep of noise!

The only downside of the hotel was we couldnt seem to work the AC!

Got to hotel before midday but was allowed to book in without any of the usual fuss, very efficent and friendly reception staff for booking in and queries (access internet) free wifi,
breakfast was self service with a chef on hand to prepare omelettes and other cooked items. good coffee and a very large selection of cheese, meat, fruit, cereal, yoghourt, breads and pastries and all the ajms and spreads you would like.
shower in room was great once i had worked out all the controls
aircon would not turn below a strangely warm 22 degrees but as this was winter we opened a window and had no issues , in the summer this might be a problem
