Had a fantastic stay at this hotel. Hotel and room was very spacious and clean. We travelled with our 1yr old daughter and travel cot was supplied. The room had a mini bar (tea and coffee facilities were not supplied in room). Breakfast is a cold continental buffet. The food was good, fresh with lots of choice. The location was so convenient for the beach, shops and tapas. We couldn't have got a better hotel with helpful staff. We found Malaga very child friendly.

We had actually booked the Room Mate Larios, but the hotel air conditioning wasn't functioning. With protests and megaphones in adjacent plaza, sleeping with the windows open would have been impossible. Sooo - Larios sent us over to Lola. I think we might have liked Lola better had we not seen the Larios 1st. Larios was MUCH nicer and cleaner and in a better location. Having said that, we were grateful that they had space for us. The room was perfectly fine, but the floating laminate floor was odd and some of the furnishings had scuff marks on them as did the floor mats. Bed was comfy and the bathroom was very nice as was the breakfast bar.. The Larios location is better and more central.

Dear Leakemar,

I am sorry for the inconvenience caused at Larios... the protest remained at the square for over a month, much to our regret.
Regarding the air conditioning, the machines stopped every now and then for a week, and reparation took longer than expected, just for a change!. A hotel is like a house, but multiplicated by 926567120022!! ;- ))

Larios has the best location... ever! right in the city centre, you are right!.
Lola is kind of "out of the beaten track", but still centraly located, just a few steps from the commercial area.
As for decoration, both are completely different too.

I thank you all your kind words, and hope to see you at Larios next time round!.

Very much recommended. Room mate hotels are always nice and classy and so was this. It was fairly close to the center. If you need to park you can choose the streets nearby. Breakfast has a fair selection. Of the two people on the reception, one had good knowledge of restaurants nearby but the other did not give good recommendations. Maybe they can prep their staff better about such things. Overall a good hotel experience though.

Dear SY14,

Good to see you are a Room Mate fan!... at Reception we have a places-to-eat list, a selection of restaurants & bars, selected by all the staff, and mainly according to our clients feedback.
I guess it is tiem to check that out!.

Thank you for your help!.

A lovely place - nicely decorated (if someone likes the modern style), quiet, extremely friendly staff, very clean. I would be happy to stay again.
The only disadvantage is the underground parking - you need to be really skilled driver to park there. But I assume this can be said about more hotels in Spain...

Dear Aleksandra_Anna,

I will only add a note as fas as the parking is concerned: it actually looks smaller from the inside (the car)!! But I guess there is no help if you get off the car, is it?? ;-)))
Yes, there is nothing we can do about it! Take it easy and drive carefully... the room is upstairs waiting for you!

Thank you!

Dear Guyandlady,

I truly appreciate your review... "would go again" is my fab phrase though! ;-))

True, slaming doors must be fixed.
Tea facilities are on the way... next time (since you are coming back!) I recommend you to ask reception for tea, they will be pleased to make it for you!.

Hope to see you soon,

My sister and I stayed for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We wanted a room in a central location with shops and bars close by. Our first impression of the hotel was not so good as the leather furniture in the lounge and breakfast area is a little bit worn however our room and bathroom were very nice....nothing worn there... the beds were very comfortable and everything was clean. There was a mini bar in the room and also a free safe. We had the breakfast and it was very good and plentiful...cereals, toast, yogurts and fresh fruit, cheeses, ham and jams etc..... The streets around the hotel can look a bit seedy at night but we never felt uncomfortable and found the people in Malaga very friendly and helpful. ...
Malaga proved a good base for travelling to Granada and to Benalmadena by public transport. The local bus and train stations are close by and from there you can travel to many places in Spain .The beach at Malaga is very good but we almost didn't find it as it is the opposite end of the port.
We would certainly use this hotel again.

We stayed in this hotel 2 years ago and it was very smart. However, due to the sharp design points it's all looking and feeling rather tatty. The seats in the dining area are completely worn out as is the sofa in the reception area. The PC is the chill out room (which was handy) is missing. There now sits an empty shelf. The hotel has no bar either - and no view (but we knew that before booking). I wonder how it gets its 4 star rating. Having said that the beds are very comfortable with good quality bedding. The bathroom was short on toiletries - 1 small portion of shower gel between 2 people?

Dear Guest,

THANK YOU for your comments. The sofas will be upholstered in the future months. In the meantime, we have put some black cushions on the seat, to improve the appearance & comfort. In addition, there are plans to open the Bar before summertime!.
The PC for clients was at the repair shop for 1 week... sorry for that!.

All in all, I hope to see you back at LOLA in the next 2 years!.

Thanks again for your review, our key to improve!.
