We loved this little hotel with the magnificent view. Lovely room with our own private courtyard. Wonderful breakfast buffet and gourmet restaurant for other meals. Very good value for the money. Friendly and helpful staff, would return again or recommend to anyone

Having read a number of reviews we were expecting a great night in the restaurant.
We were left feeling very disappointed.
The food was average and as an example we ordered suckling pig which was described on the menu as having crispy crackling. On it being served it was best described as soggy.
In the morning at breakfast we waited 30 mins to be served a coffee and the buffet was virtually empty. The lady serving said it had been so busy but we saw no sign of this.
Again very disappointed because having seen reviews we were really looking forward to trying this location.
We have lived in this area for over 20 years and there are much better places to visit.
The room its self was clean and tidy and good terrace.
Perhaps we have been unlucky on this weekend with the food because so many reviewers can't be wrong.
This is the first time in all my reviews that I have been negitive.

Room Tip: Room with terrace

I was so lucky to happen upon this hotel. I loved it from the moment I arrived. It truly felt like a boutique hotel in the best sense of the word. From the warm welcome to the attention to detail, nothing was missed. And yet they managed to create a relaxed atmosphere where I felt like I was almost part of the family.
The food was fabulous, the views outstanding and the hotel itself was elegant without being pretentious. I just hope too many people don't find out about Villa Guadalupe so those of in the know can keep this treasure from getting overbooked.
If you want a real treat in a quiet natural environment only 10 minutes by car from the city I highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: I liked room #9 because I was travelling with a small dog and the room has a door leading to a small...

After spending 7 wonderful days at the hotel, we ate here at least 3 times and it is one of the best food experiences we have had in a row in a very long time. Besides the food, the view is in absolute top and the staff is very kind and helpful, thanks for a great stay, see you again.

Wow – what can I say, a beautiful hotel.

We stayed here two weeks ago, and on arrival were greeted and welcomed to the hotel.
The room we stayed in had stunning views across Malaga from a private terrace. We were in room 5 and apparently there are only a handful of rooms with these kind of views, so definitely worth paying the extra for this.

After checking in we had a drink and sat on the main terrace, again with spectacular views.
We dined in the Restaurant on our first night and the food is superb and you shouldn’t pass up on this opportunity. It’s a little pricey but well worth it.

Breakfast is continental but plenty of choice and enough to fill you up.

The hotel itself is about 20 minutes bus ride from the main city of Malaga and the beach. It’s a very steep hill up to the hotel so not suitable for people with walking difficulties – neither do you want to be carrying suitcases up the hill. However, if you can manage it, its well worth it. The hotel is situated in a quiet area. The pool looked lovely but a bit cold to try in the middle of January.

The hotel has a very high standard of cleanliness and the rooms were thoroughly serviced every day.

We were looked after very well by the owners who were extremely friendly whenever we saw them.

Their picture of them with Antonio Banderas (Malaga's famous son) takes pride of place in the bar.

I highly recommend this hotel, and Id love to think one day I will go back.

Thank you to all at the hotel for giving us such a relaxing holiday.

Room Tip: Ask for room 5. Alternatively a room with the private balcony and the views.

Really enjoyed a 3 night stay here in Jan '13. If you get a balcony room on floor 2, the views over malaga, the mountains, and the sea are wonderful. The restaurant isnt the cheapest in Malaga obviously, but some excellent food.
To get the views, you have to be up a hill - and walking up it...after a couple of cervezas...is not the funnest thing to do, but doable with a couple of breathers if you are semi-fit. A bonus to do to and from the main road though - to pay a tenth of the price for a bus versus a taxi.
Off-peak month, service was extremely friendly and helpful - very much a family feel though - with everyone doing a bit of everything....absolutely fine by me.

Good points: The views, the service, the food, the wifi, the free parking, the aircon/heating
Minor picky points: It could really do with a fridge in the room(possibly steal a bit of wardrobe)

I'd definitely recommend it.

Room Tip: Ask for floor 2 to get a balcony with fantastic views over malaga, the sea, and the mountains. Alth...

My wife and I pre-booked for a one week stay at the end of January and were more than pleased with the service, quality of the rooms, cleanliness and very helpful staff.
The pictures on the web site do not do justice to this superb hotel. The hotel has an upside down arrangement with the entrance and restaurant on the 4th floor and 11 bedrooms spread over the 3 lower floors. It seems a strange set up but it really does work well in practice and because the hotel is on a steep hill all rooms appear to have a good view.
We stayed in room 9 which was on floor 1 and it came with French windows that led out onto a small terrace and also a small private garden with its own palm tree and stunning uninterrupted views across the whole of Malaga. There was under-floor heating in the bathroom and the bedroom had A/C which you could blow out warm air first thing in the January morning. Every day the room was cleaned and fresh towels placed in the bathroom.
I will certainly be using this hotel again.

Room Tip: ** You do need a car as it is a steep ¼ mile walk to the nearest bus**. Ask for rooms 7, 9 or 10 for...
