and it wasn't just the after effects of the barbecue I'd been invited to.
Most things about the room were good (shower excellent) and the owners very friendly, I accepted the offer of going to the barbecue and to compliment this nice gesture, gave them a hibiscus plant. When taking my leave of the hostel next morning was presented with a bill for 32 euros!!! I felt sick to my stomache (not just at the cost) but at the realisation of how I'd been taken in by all the insincere geniality leading up to it. I am a senior citizen and a solo female traveller and have stayed in many similar hostels since it is my preference but never has the like ever been an issue. Have since had a portion of this amount returned to me after a wrangle with Sergio the owner .
