Perfect location for visiting all the attractions in old town Malaga, everything in walking distance including Picasso Museum and the Cathedral. The beach was only a short walk away too!!!
Wonderful tapas bars and restaurants to try.
Beautiful apartment over looking the square, Plaza de la Merced.
The location of Marta's apartment was perfect for exploring all the great sights of Malaga. The kitchen was very nice but if you do not want to cook there are many restaurants just below the apartment for all meals.
The beds were cofortable and the bathrooms were modern with great showers. The views from the front bedroom and large livingroom were splendid. The street musicians played off and on throughout the day. The area is very festive.
Rented this apartment for 3 nights. The rental process from start to finish was smooth, communicating was prompt and response was always very helpful.
We arrived at the apartment and met with Carlos. He walked us through the apartment in detail and gave us very helpful tips on restaurants and nearby places for shopping for essential.
Location was fantastic. You can reach the old town within minutes. There were restaurants just downstairs from the apartment. It was roomy and kept in excellent condition.
It only has a couple minor negatives:
1) insufficient toilet papers. We had to buy eight rolls of toilet paper so that we can use one more.
2) the water tap on the second bathroom ran very very slow.
Other than that, I think this is still a very apartment to be in.
We stayed in this beautiful apartment for four nights. Very central, right in the heart of Malaga. Marta met us and showed us through thel apartment. Everything was on our doorstep. We loved our time there. We then moved on to another apartment owned by Marta right on the beach in Malaga. Another gorgeous apartment. We enjoyed our stay in both apartments. Thanks Marta for your hospitality.
My friend and I stayed in this lovely apartment for 3 nights. Prior to arrival Marta was prompt and helpful when replying to e-mail queries and made sure that we had all the check-in information and contact details for Carlos.
We were greeted at the apartment by Carlos who showed us around the apartment and how everything worked. He gave us some recommendations for places to eat, and marked them on a map - and also recommended some sights to see and things to do. He also left excellent contact instructions if we were experiencing any problems.
The apartment was clean, and beautifully well equipped. The rooms were spacious, the beds comfortable and there was plenty of extra bedding and pillows if needed. The bathrooms were luxurious, really well equipped, toiletries and plenty of large fluffy towels were included.
The front bedroom which overlooks the square was noisy, but this is to be expected bearing in mind the location and the bars and restaurants beneath the window, but there were earplugs provided to assist in getting a good nights sleep.
All in all I think that this is one of the nicest apartments I have stayed in while visiting Malaga and it is well worth the money. The location is excellent - everything you could want is on the doorstep (including the Merced Market which has fresh fish, meat and vegetables as well as lots of little restaurant quality food stands) all the famous sites are near by and it is easily accessible on foot or by taxi.
Hopefully I will be able to visit again soon.

My husband and I are just ending a 3 month stay in this apartment. Great apartment, great location, great owners! We could not have been happier.
The apartment is in an old building but with modern updates so it has charm AND efficiency. There is everything you could want, including sharp knives, wash clothes, novels in 3 languages (Spanish, English and German), and big doors/windows to let in the light. If we had a problem or question, Marta responded immediately. My husband had a dental emergency and Marta and Clemente arranged an appointment for him in the quickest possible time.
One of the things I like best about the apartment is the location. Pablo Picasso grew up in the other end of this building. The two living room doors, with tiny balconies, face Plaza de la Merced, one of the major plazas in the city. The view includes the military memorial and the Cathedral, both lit up at night. It looks like a postcard.
The front of this building and the identical one next door are lined with cafes. Walk out the door and you're in the middle of La Plaza, an excellent restaurant. Or try Citron, just down from the Fundación de Picasso, on the north side of the Plaza.
Musicians and street performers do their thing in front of the cafes, all through the day and night, hoping for tips.
Plaza Merced is where the 11 a.m. "free" tour meets daily, next to the statue of PIcasso, which is sitting on a bench. Lots of tours come through every day. Families with kids fill up the Plaza on weekends, as well as the occasional craft fair.
If you go around the corner of the Picasso gift shop, there's a droguería where you can get soap for the washer and dishwasher, a bakery, and a small grocery. Cross the small street and there is the equivalent of a $5 store, with everything you can think of in total chaos. We bought a notebook, toilet paper, and a casserole dish there.
From the Picasso gift shop, you can see the Málaga Mercado sign on the building across the street. This new market has stalls with produce, meats, fish, etc. open until 1:30 p.m. Also inside are lots of little tapas stalls, including a great bakery, that open for lunch and dinner.
Continue walking past the Mercado and you run into the Cervantes Theater, where an excellent symphony orchestra plays every month. Turn left and down another block and there are three outstanding restaurants--the two Cervantes next to each other on the left and the Italian La Romantica on the right.
Plaza de la Merced is at the end of the old town, where the city wall used to be. Cross the street at the light on the other side of the Plaza and you're two blocks from the Picasso Museum, a block from the Roman Amphitheater and the Alcazaba, and close to the Cathedral.
Who could ask for anything more?
Some people have commented on the noise. It is true that the Plaza has a lot going on. We slept in the back bedroom and were not bothered at all. We warned guests, who slept in the front bedroom, to bring earplugs. They did but didn't use them. They closed the wooden shutters on the window and that was enough.
I stayed here with my husband and sister
Cant fault the apartment, the fixture and fittings and furniture are very high quality. We loved the lay out of the apartment and having 2 bathrooms is a huge plus. Its bright and cheerful, it had such a lovely feel to it. We felt very privileged to be in such a nice apartment in a great location.
The only down side is the noise. My sister slept in the bedroom at the front and the noise from the bars/cafes below were not a problem, however all through the night there seem to be comings and goings across the plaza. The owner does mention the noise so we did expect some, and it may be because we were there over the holiday period and there were a lot of people out partying. It was a pity.
Don't let that put you off it may not be something that would bother you and you would really miss out on a nice apartment.
