We stumbled on the Museum by accident as we were heading back to our Hotel. The paintings and drawings on display are superb and I would highly recommend paying a visit.

We are interested in art and architecture so visited this museum in a restored old house. We did not know of Revello de Toro's work before and what a surprise. His paintings (a donation by the artist) are truly inspirational. Beautiful portraits with a lot of use of white draped fabrics and bright light. And the still life of glass bottles is an absolute stunner with bold brushwork.
We had to return the next day to buy a book of the collection.
The museum house is carefully restored and makes fine gallery spaces around a courtyard.
Friendly helpful staff and a useful audio guide in English.

I literally stumbled upon this museum when wandering through the streets around Plaza de Merced - and I'm so glad I did! It was a delight - and the audio commentary (included in the inexpensive ticket price) was really helpful in learning more about this artist who is famous in Spain, but not so widely known elsewhere. The paintings are luminous and the building which houses them, previously the home of one of Spain's master sculptors, is also historically interesting. Really worth a look

Felix Revello de Toro is one of Malaga's most famous artists. He has specialized painting portraits and has painted some of the most famous people of Spain. These include the King and Queen of Spain. He has specialized in painting beautiful women and many of these paintings are included in the collection of this museum. It is a delight to see so many beautiful women portrayed in this little museum.
