“stayed for 4 days, never again!”

This is not a hostel for those looking for a few home comforts or good facilities. In all my years of staying in hostels, which have been many, I've never tipped up to find not only are there no fridges or kitchen facilities for guests but the "dining room" is locked apart from breakfast, lunch and dinner times. We asked for all our food to be put in a fridge which got an icy response from the reception lady and the kitchen guy had to come down to unlock and take our food. There is a guest TV room with a large TV on the wall a small book exchange and various vending machines and a microwave, no free water and only hard chairs and tables to sit on, nothing comfy and the bright overhead lights really add to the ambiance!

The food we saw served at dinner was designed for children, chicken nuggets, browning lettuce and nothing at all that I thought was worth the €8.

First hostel to hold my YHA card until I leave and hand back the key!

This used to be a boarding school and the long corridors reminded me of a time ivisted a hospital in Bulgaria!!!!!

Rooms basic, we had a twin ensuite, no towels were provided in the room as is usual.

Hostel is one where the noise carries which is not good with school parties and conference people being the majority users.

Altogether a hostel I would not recommend considering we paid more for our room than hotels down in the nice pedestrianised part of town that we found.

Oh, WiFi only free in the aforementioned TV room.

Altogether not a good experience!

Room Tip: We stayed in 110 on first floor one away from lift, window opens onto road side of buildin

You can hear everything in this place, boffing couples upstairs, loud neighbors two doors down, toilet running non-stop in some other room...so take your ear plugs. Rooms are narrow, adequate for two beds toe-to-toe...don't know why they have closets and a desk in them--they take up space and people can live out of their suitcase there and write post cards in the lobby or courtyard areas (or in a nice cafe somewhere near the beach!) You can rent towels at the desk, sheets and blankets are included on the squeaky creaky beds. If you are a group, take a taxi--it costs less than 5 euro to get to the main train station--the bus is 1.30 each way and takes a whole lot longer--especially if you have to look for the bus stop. Breakfast was fine if you are not picky and just need to fill your stomach with something. Otherwise sleep late and go downtown for a good cup of coffee. Reception lady is very friendly and helpful. Building was formerly a private school for boys from well-to-do families, so the courtyard is pretty nice. The rest has definitely seen better days.

Large and very clean, recently renovated hostel with professional service, small but very neat room with brand new bathroom and super shower. Very good breakfast; lunch and dinner are ok. Possibility to park bikes inside. Minus points: windows could not be opened which means that you have to use the a bit noisy airco; business like 'atmosphere'; not right in the centre. Extra plus: old fashioned grocery store and night shop nearby.
