This modern hotel is in the center of town at walking distance to the main sites and restaurants. Also very close to the bus- and trainstation. Good equiped and clean room. Breakfast (buffet) is only 6 euro's if you make a reservation the day before, otherwise 7 euro. Which is very cheap for this good buffet breakfast. It is a modern business like hotel, so don't expect a spanish atmosphere.

My husband, son and I stayed here for one night recently, owing to the lack of trains back to Seville, having seen my older son off on his flight back to England. We picked the hotel at random, having walked up from the Maria Zambrano train station. It looked nicer than most of the other ones we passed and was far enough from the main pedestrian thoroughfare to avoid inevitable noise from late night drunks etc. The late evening check-in was dealt with quickly by a friendly member of staff.

We were pleasantly surprised by the room. It was quite spacious, nicely decorated, the beds were comfortable and (although we found it too late) the room had a mini-bar. We did however find the winter duvet extremely hot and unnecessarily heavy. There was a nice desk, TV and a very nice bathroom with green marble sink surround, bidet and even a jacuzzi bath.

The continental style breakfast was adequate, with a hard-working member of staff replenishing the food items as soon as they started to run out (and quickly cleaning up any orange juice, spilt by clumsy children - whoops!) The croissants and fresh bread were delicious, the fruit selection was great, although the bacon was chewy and not to be recommended!

Overall the stay was very pleasant. We were close to all amenities (and lots of take-aways which luckily still sell a beer, as the bars all seemed to be shut by 11). We paid under €100 for all three of us to sleep in this very nice 3-star hotel, which included the €7 breakfast.

Room Tip: We stayed on the second floor, the view was of opposite rooms (unless you keep the curtains closed l...

We used this hotel as a one night stop-over as we were getting an early morning flight the next day. We booked online and chose it because of the great reviews, and our only criteria was cleanliness and breakfast included. We also wanted somewhere in a central position so we could easily get to the hotel from the bus station, and get to the airport quickly the next day.

The hotel is very easy to find and in an amazing central location, situated perfectly in between the transport links (train and bus stations), and the old town where most of the shops, restaurants and bars are! Some of the streets in Malaga can be quite ugly, but this hotel is situated right by the canal and in a pretty pedestrianised street, which was a lovely surprise.

The reception area was nice and the girl working at the desk was friendly enough and showed us the dining room and gave us info about breakfast times, etc. There is a lift, which we used to get to our room on the 6th floor. We had booked into a Superior Double room, and were very happy with it. The room was VERY spacious, with a great balcony with stunning views over the city. I was also impressed with the free WIFI and plenty of power sockets in the room. The bathroom was clean and modern, and i loved the spa bath function!

Bed was very comfortable and had a great nights sleep. Went down to the buffet breakfast as soon as it opened, and once again was very pleasantly surprised. There was a huge selection of foods, cakes, croissants, pastries, fruit, cereal, muffins, hams, cheeses, toast, etc. lots of different drink choices. Everything vey tasty!

All in all, a very comfortable stay and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone!

Room Tip: Worth getting a Superior Double for the balcony view and spacious room!

I spent one night at this hotel in September.  My room was very basic and small, but clean and comfortable. I found the location  perfect for one or two nights in Malaga. It's on the edge of the old historic part and a short walk (10-15 min) to the attractions (museums, shops, cathedrals, port). There's also a train station on the corner that takes you to the airport in 14 minutes, which is cheap, safe and convenient.

We were not even staying in this hotel, but we went in to reception to ask directions to where we were staying. Some receptionists might not have really liked this, but the gent we spoke to immediately got out a map, and marked out the directions to where our hotel was. He was so helpful, and accommodating when my partner's near-perfect Spanish slipped slightly. Even though we didn't stay there, we were both really impressed with the service!

This was the 2nd time I have visited the Astoria , the 1st time was way back new years eve 2007 with family . This time I came with 2 of my friends in October last year ( sorry for the late review ) the hotel hadnt changed much since 2007 , the hotel is modern and clean , the staff were very professional and are at hand for any questions .
I shared my room with my friends , room was lovely and clean and excellent value for money . We only used the hotel as a base because we spent the night enjoying the electric Malaga night life and tapas bars , just chilling and enjoying the city vibe .
Great night with friends and a nice hotel .......all in all a WIN WIN short enjoyable stay :-)

Room Tip: Before travelling check the hotel website on how to get to the hotel , it's a bit of a challenge...

Just got back from my stag do in Malaga with 8 of my mates and can highly recommend this hotel.
It is ideally situated for the Playa and the busy bustling town. Hotel was clean with comfortable/clean rooms friendly staff with a good knowledge of where to head to depending on what you want. Malaga it's self was amazing and caters for all types, great for stag do and it will be great when I return with my wife in the future..
