Owner description: Our Philosophy: Aircraft are not for show, they are meant to be touched. The museum is open to all, whether you are new to aviation or not. All who want to help out have their place as a Museum Friend. We want to make aviation approachable to everyone. We are one of the few museums worldwide that allow free entry to its aircraft cockpits on demand. Flying today has become so routine that we sometimes forget the magic that is rising into the air like a bird, and soaring through the sky. So we want to show you all aspects of aviation in an approachable way; so that you feel completely at home. Our aircraft are restored selflessly by our volunteers: we gladly open their doors for you, because we believe sitting at a pilot's seat is an enriching experience.

Museum Malaga Airport is located in the airport’s original terminal and according to info we were told this building was Malaga Airport around 20 years until late 1960's, then Aeroclub and finally became General Aviation Terminal.
Museum presents the evolution of air transport and the affects on the development of tourism locally.
There are objects of different airports in Spain with regards to aviation/airports and aircrafts. Old airport control tower or cockpit of an old aircraft can also be visited. No admission, it is free.
If you have time at the airport just enjoy the museum, nice place, especially for kids.

“Not just for aviation fans”
Reviewed May 18, 2012

You have to really want to visit this museum because it's stuck out of the way behind the brewery at the end of the runway - and the airport information seem to have no knowledge of it! It's about a 20 minute walk from the new terminal, past the General Aviation (business) terminal so don't give up. (take a cab)
A wonderful collection of aviation artefacts are housed in the original airport buildings (built under Franco) that put one in mind of a hacienda. There are a couple of static aircraft outside to give an idea of scale (DC3, CV440, 727 nose) and a plethora of airport vehicles that will please the kids. However most of the interesting things for aircraft buffs are inside the lovely old building and the new halls alongside them.(uniforms, ephemera, books, films etc.). There are also some Roman archaeological remains in the ground.....And to cap it all this is all free! Donations only....I gave €15 and thought it worth every cent!
