“Cheap, clean, but very noisy and uncomfortable”
Reviewed September 26, 2011

This hotel is very clean considering the low cost of the rooms. However the beds were really uncomfortable (back aches guaranteed!) and you hear everything that is going on in the street outside and in the hotel corridor, including other guests coming back drunken in the middle of the night.
I would not recommend it for more than a night. It is ideal if you need a place to stay next to Malaga's train/bus station, for example if travelling early in the morning or arriving to Malaga late at night.

Las Americas is the perfect hotel for visiting Malaga at a good value for money.
Situated in city historical center is well conected: in front of Renfe (Spanish Rail Service), nearby Estacion de autobuses, and 15-20 minutes away from Malaga AGP International Airport.
Our room was nice and clean and the reception staff was always nice and after check in give us fresh bottled water for our room.
For a long stay at this hotel is missing the mini bar frig and the mini safe.
They also have a restaurant and for late hours self service automated coffee machines.
The broadband WiFi internet is free and the receptionist will give you a code to connect.
Is the perfect hotel for one night stay if you want to be well connected to the airport, train or buses!

I would say that the hotel is located strategically. It's one minute walk from train station (Maria Zambrano), 5 minutes walk from bus station, 15 minutes from city centre and 10 minutes from beach.
It can be noisy sometimes, but not in the middle of the night.
There is the Internet,TV, airconditioning and hairdryer in the room.
The room was cleaned every day and the towels were changed too.
The staff is very nice, they gave me the map and tell many useful things about visiting Malaga.
It is also safe place. The hotel is small, so the staff remember which is your room and it's imposible that some stranger comes out and takes key to your room...

Room Tip: The best place for visiting Malaga and other cities in Andalusia

This hotel is directly opposite the renfe station in Malaga NOT to be confused with the central railway station. This station links directly to T3 of airport with trains every 30 mins and journey takes 15 mins for less than 2 euros.
The rooms had aircon, full bathroom and large TV.There is free internet in the common room together with a drinks machine and snack machine.
It is next to 3 cafes who serve breakfast and meals throughout the day if required. The tourist bus stops just outside the railway station every 35 mins for a tour of Malaga and of course there is a taxi rank there also.
This is an excellent value for money hotel.

Even though this hotel was only across the road from train station. We wouldn't stay in it ever again. Room was tiny. Staff not very friendly. Beds uncomfortable and bad bed linen. Definitely not value for money

We only stayed one night at this hotel across the street from the bus and train stations. Easy walk into town centre, about 10 - 15 minutes. The Alcazaba is closed Monday's, but Castillo de Gibralfaro is open and worth a walk up to.

The hotel is clean, quiet and has free internet available in the rooms as well as in the common area. There is a large outdoor terrace with barbeques. Also a vending machine with coffee available. There was also a large common room with a big TV, computers and kitchen.

We picked this hotel as we were only passing through Malaga and didn't want the hassle of getting to the train station in the morning. It is probably no more than 100 or 200 metres across the road. It's a further 50metres to the bus station.

The room was small, but the aircon was brilliant and it was clean. My only reservation was the thinness of the bed linen. It looked pretty old although I'm probably only being fussy. We only had a small window in the bedroom and it was at the end of the corridor towards the bathroom. This made the room feel very cell like although we saw other rooms as we were leaving and they weren't like this.

They have someone on the desk 24 hours so when we arrived at 3am, we didn't have any problems checking in and getting to our room.

For what we were were looking for, this hotel was perfect but I'm not sure we would have wanted to stay here much longer than one or two nights if we were spending long in Malaga. I think it's about 20mins walk to the centre.
