We stayed here for one night on our way to Seville and it was very clean, comfortable and affordable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the bar for 5 euros was light but tasty.

The best thing is the location of the hotel - it is easy to get to from the airport as well as the train station, buses go right from Alameda Principal or it's a short walk to the bus station. It is also easy to explore the old town or walk to the beach from here.

Room Tip: We asked for a room at the back of the hotel which was relatively quiet, except for the early mornin...

We stayed in this hotel for one night as we were arriving in Malaga late before travelling to the coast the next day. The location is brilliant as the airport bus stops right outside the hotel and it is only a few minutes walk to the cathedral and the main streets where there are loads of shops and lots of great restaurants and bars.

We hadn't expected to enjoy Malaga as much as we did but it is a great city - really lively and young feel to it with lots to see and do.

The staff at the hotel were very welcoming and friendly. The room itself was adequate and absolutely fine for a short city break with airconditoning and fridge in the room. The decor is a little dated but nothing that would stop me from staying at the hotel again.

There is a nice little cafe attached to the hotel where we had breakfast the next morning (included in the price we paid). All in all, I think the hotel is a great find and excellent value for money.

My wife and I toured around the south of Spain in September. We stayed here for two days to see the sights in Malaga. Venecia is perfectly situated to acces all the tourist offerings and stroll to Malaga's beautiful beach. We have been using a website to get great deals on hotels and this one was no exception. We paid 102€ for two nights; a steal of a deal. We also paid for the breakfast in their on site cafe, at 4€ it was also a steal. Good food, great service. So keep in mind we do not feel we received bad value or are in any way disappointed. However...

The Venecia needs a massive upgrade. It lists it's self as a three star and it's far from that. It would be best described as an old two star. The paint is chipping and filthy. There are cigarette stains and burns in the rooms, despite listing it self as a non smoking hotel (which is extra funny as they placed a fresh clean ashtray in our room). The walls are paper thin; but the rooms at the back are at least free of street noise.

In all, if you can get a steal of a deal, do it. But if ou are paying more than 65€ a night, you good easily find better.

we stayed here prior to adjoining a cruise from the port. We chose the hotel for its location to the port and shopping area. We were not dissapointed as the hotel almost backed onto the port and crossing the road you entered the pedestrianised shopping center. The hotel was not the most modern but was very clean with a certain dated decor with large high ceiling rooms. We have stayed in nicer hotels but for location we couuldn't have found better. The shopping was as good as any british shopping center with squares and side streets worth exploring with lots of bars and tapas bars as well as museums and castles and the cathedral all adding to the atmosphere of this beautiful city. The price we paid for the hotel through Asda travel was £49 which was a bargain. We hope to return to this hotel but for a longer stay.

Room Tip: we got a corner room but a fron t room would be preffered

We had a fantastic trip of 4 days to Malaga. We stayed at Hotel Venecia.
The staff were very helpful, they provided a city map, places to eat, train timings, etc. The hotel had discount coupons for Benalmadena cable car, which was quite useful.
The room was clean and nice.
Internet was available in the corridor and charges were 0.50 euro for 10 minutes.
The breakfast was okay.
Would have been much better if they provided tea/coffee making facility in the room.
The location is fantastic as its at the start of high street.

The hotel Venecia is a very good budget hotel, perfect for a city break. by budget I am really only refering to the price we paid per night, as the rooms are clean and comfortably furnished. The bathroom is large and our's had a jacuzzi bath! Multilingual staff were welcoming and courteous throughout our stay.
Situated on the Alameda principal you will only be minutes away from the warren of streets in the historical centre in which to explore the sights, tapas and vino!
I have read that some people found this area to be noisy, we did not notice this outside of the weekend - our room was at the back and extremely comfortable.
The bus from and to the airport stops seconds away from the hotel entrance and the journey time is approx 20 mins and I would recommend keeping with the budget theme and using this, super cheap and efficient. Enjoy!

The Venecia as mentiond elsewere is in a great central position, oppisite the main shopping/restaurant area and is ideal for exploring the sophisticated city of Malaga.
I was suprised on arrival at the high quality of the hotel for the low price we had paid
and our room at the front of the hotel was very spacious both in the bedroom and the bathroom. The standard of fittings and cleanliness was very good. I found all the staff we encountered to be very helpful and friendly.
We had booked a one night stay on a B&B basis for a saturday night and had to leave the hotel at 8.30am and was suprised to find breakfast did not start until 9 am. When we mentioned this to the person on reception they without hesitation or fuss opened the restaurant for us and we were served by a cheerie young lady who gave us freshly squeezed orange juice, great coffee and some toasted french bread and jams.
The only drawback at night was the traffic noise from outside which went on all night, our friends had a side room and had the same problem due to the glazing being inadequate to soundproof the noise. If the hotel invested in some up to date double or triple glazing this would without doubt be the best place to stay in the city..
The only other drawback was the 24 euro charge for 21 hours public car parking next to the hotel.
