“Another satisfying stay at this hotel”
Reviewed February 25, 2011

We stayed for 4 nights in February - our 5th visit to this hotel in as many years and the constant high standard is maintained. The rooms are spacious and clean as are all the reception areas. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We had a breakfast (which was included in the room rate) which was excellent. No hesitation in recommending this establishment.

We stayed four nights in the hotel. Staff were efficient and welcoming. Room was medium size with large bathroom. Spotlessly clean. We had a very plesant stay and the location was excellent. A short walk to the historic town. Breakfast was good although we prefered the cold selection to the hot selection. We would definitely stay again.

I considered many other options before deciding to return to the Malaga Centro, where we'd stayed three years before, and did not regret the decision. I really can't fault this hotel. The location might look unprepossessing, alongside the concrete ditch which is Malaga's main river, but the city centre is only 10 minutes walk and the location is easy to get to by car once you know how to do it. (Tip - there are a lot of roadworks at present so it's worth asking the hotel for directions.) Parking is free, too.

We had a superior double room for just over €90 including a quite decent breakfast. The room was stylish, comfortable and quiet (heating/air conditioning that doesn't keep you awake) with a big bathroom with separate bath and shower. The hotel is beautifuuly clean and well-maintained and the staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. On our previous visit, a late arrival meant we had dinner at the hotel, which was perhaps not its best feature, but that is common with city hotels and, with loads of great restaurants within walking distance, should not be seen as a major drawback.

The roof-top terrace, complete with tiny pool, provides a great place to soak up the sun after a morning's sight-seeing (even in January).

We stayed in the Malaga Centro for a week in December to celebrate my 40th birthday. We arrived at the hotel at 12 noon and were able to check in immediately. The room was not one of the largest but had everything you needed, TV, free wifi, hair dryer and safe. The bathroom however was huge, with a great shower over the bath and a double vanity unit. We had breakfast included which was very good value and was served until 10.30 am which was good as sometimes they stop at 9.30 am, which is early when you are on holiday. There was plenty of choice, meats, cheeses, eggs, pastries, breads, fruit juices, cereals and, at no extra cost, they would also cook you hot breakfast too. The walk into the Centre was only five minutes, over a bridge, down a few steps, and into the main square. There is a large main street full of high street shops with lots and lots of little side streets filled with tapas bars. As most of the bars are outdoors they provided patio heaters so it was warm enough to enjoy your food and drinks outside. It is a very spanish City so menus tended to be in Spanish only, but after a few days you can usually guess what most things are. There is an undergound station only a short walk from the hotel, which takes you to places such as Fuengerola and Torremolinos. Its the first station on the line so always plenty of free seats, trains run on the hour and every half hour until late at night. The trains are very clean and always punctional and its a very cheap way to travel. We also had a day in Marbella which again was lovely. All in all a very enjoyable break in a great hotel and city with plenty of places to travel to. The only fault we could find was that the rooms were too hot. There was air conditioning but in the winter it only heats and doesn't cool. Other than that it comes highly recommended.

we booked a superior twin room for 3 nights. The beds were wider than a standard single and very comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Ideal location for the old town and train from the airport. The train was just over 1 euro to Malaga Centro, taking 15 minutes, then a 10 minute walk along a pedestrian walkway to the hotel. The old town was a 3 minutes walk away and the port about 20 minutes walk. There is a secure car park too.

Stayed here for one night before and one night after a cruise.
Check in was very efficient both times and we were able to have our room at 9am after the cruise.
Rooms were nicely decorated with very luxurious bathrooms.
Free WiFi was a bonus
Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and a machine that makes excellent coffee.
We had a meal in the bar and it was very good.
All staff spoke English and were pleasant and very helpful.
Lovely decked area on the roof top with sunbeds and chairs and panoramic views.
The 'swimming pool' was very small, approx 8 feet by 12 feet!!!

All in all, a great stay.
