“Museum was shut, disappointed!”
Reviewed October 23, 2013 via mobile

We made this our first sight to visit as my daughter really wanted to visit the museum. After we had difficulty in finding it we were told it was shut. With my limited Spanish I couldn't understand the museum owner when it would reopen or if would reopen at all but there appeared to be building works outside. Basically it was a waste of time so if you're planning on going check that it's open!

“A Hidden Gem near the Picasso Museum!”
Reviewed June 20, 2013

Nestled in one of Malaga's oldest historic quarters just a few blocks from the Picasso Museum and Plaza de la Merced (under which there is convenient parking) is this hidden treasure. As a lover of history and architecture, I learned a lot from these antique, large dollhouses that are miniature replicas of how people used to live in various regions of Spain during the past few centuries. Each building is replete with every minor detail (furniture, kitchens, light fixtures, people, toys) you can imagine. Some miniatures were even created by the nimble fingers of the owner, Voria Harras, who was a delightful guide and not only showed off her museum, but also her improving English.

“I loved it! Enthousiasm of the owner is inspiring.”
Reviewed June 6, 2013

This small museum in an old and atmospheric house is a gem. You have to ring the door bell to get in and it does help when you speak a few words of Spanish since the lady who owns this places gets excited and starts telling everything and anything you ever wanted to know about dollhouses, miniatures, architecture and decoration through the ages, which she tends to do in rapid Spanish... no worries upstares you will find lots of information in English if you didn't quite understand what she was talking about and didn't bring your own interpreter. Her enthousiasm is contagious and you get to see so much, so wonderful and so well kept! It's nostalgic, every visitor will recognize some toy or another in the collection. Recommandable!

Tucked away in a street leading into the Plaza de la Merced, this museum is housed in an old Malagueño building, which itself is worth viewing. The collection itself is eclectic and quirky, and has many fine examples of toys obviously once treasured by their owners.

“An Overlooked Museum”
Reviewed February 15, 2013

This museum has very few visitors, which is a pity because it is a different type of museum showing doll houses and their furnishings over the ages. One can learn very much by looking at these doll houses and this is not just for doll fanciers. It is really a wonderful museum
