“Friendly staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2014

We stayed two nights in February 2014 in a basic room. All hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly the reception staff. Room was comfortable and very clean. Had to ask for extra towels, but that was immediately actioned. Good location near the Old Town, a short walk to shops, restaurants, etc. Malaga is a surprisingly good choice for a weekend city break. Usually overshadowed by her more famous cousins like Granada, Seville, Barcelona, Madrid. However the weather is great, prices are low, loads of flights and the Picasso museum, old fort, cathedral and the old town. Try it!

Room Tip: Rooms over looking the dry river bed have lights shining into them. This does not apply to the back...

Excellent hotel in a wonderful location - we spent a long weekend in Malaga attending a major sport event in the evenings and we used the morning to explore the city centre. The NH provides a wonderful base to do so. The rooms were spacious and warm, the staff is quite friendly and the only "but" is the quality of wify, which was pretty slow.

I will definitely return to the NH the next time I go to Malaga and I 100% recommended to whoever visit Malaga and want to stay in a nice, functional, comfy place.

Outside the touristic concentration, but still within walking distance to all the most important sights.
This hotel used to be modern couple of decades a go and now it has very Spanish label - in a positive way. Immaculate service and airy premises gives most enjoyable atmosphere.
Our suite had large opening windows on two sides along the "river" and there was a great light as well.
The breakfast seems first to be overwhelming but for a healthy one it is quite succinct for instance considering vegetables.

Don't let the noise put you off this hotel!! Reading a lot of the reviews on tripadvisor for this hotel, I can see a few people complaining of the noise. Let me put you at ease! The noise is not that bad. With the windows closed, you can get a good nights sleep! It is a city centre hotel so of course there will be noise.

Malaga is a very lively city, and I would recommend it to anyone! I think that most people tend to think Barcelona or Madrid would be better for a city break.. This is not true at all. Malaga has absolutely everything that you could wish for. It has great night-life (clubs and bars) that go on until 6 in the morning. The hotel is in the city centre, and a 20 minute walk from the beach. There is plenty of activity on the beaches.

There is a harbour in Malaga which has recently (looked to be within the last 6 or 7 years) been renovated. The area is great for restaurants, designer shops, souvenir shops and coffee shops.

The hotel has a private car park for use (for a small price). The staff all seem to be very knowledgeable about the local area, and willing to give you advice. Most staff spoke some English!

This IS a city centre hotel and like most of that kind does have traffic noise - what does one expect? - closed windows keep out the noise. I stayed there for 14 nights over Christmas and New Year and enjoyed an excellent breakfast every morning. Room was spotless and a very good size - TV has some English channels and BBC News. Weather was warm during the day (chilly in evening) so I walked 5 minutes to the Train station and travelled to the coast every day. Evenings were spent in the old town - 10 minutes away. What a city! Lively, noisy, VERY friendly, NO trouble UK style, superb shopping, 3 or 4 bands in the main street every evening plus a full orchestra in the main square. Found a fantastic, tiny, noisy, friendly bar in the old town (El Gallo Ronco, Calle Santa Maria 16 - 2 mins from main square). My fifth trip to this marvellous city.

Room Tip: If you do not smoke, make sure you are on a non smoking floor.

I recommend this hotel for a great getaway in Malaga as it is central located, it is clean and the staff is very helpfull. You will find the hotel a sure choice for a safe trip without any "surprises". Its can also be a good choice if you rent a car and visit the rest of the Andalusia as Seville or Marbella etc.

It's a good hotel. Like the other NHs, it has a simple design, but comfort-oriented. It has a private car park (for a fee) which makes it very convenient for those who, arriving in Malaga at night, do not want to worry about finding a parking space.
The front desk staff was kind, fast and helpful. Unfortunately, the first room we were given had a bed unacceptably noisy (as confirmed by the hotel staff) and so we had been given a different one, however of the same level, comfortable and clean.
Room service was quick and efficient, the breakfast plentiful in a spacious and quiet atmosphere.
Cons: a strong and unpleasant smell of smoke in the elevators area on the first floor, finishings worn here and there, missing soap-shelf in the shower.
