Like described in previous reviews, this place is some away from other places. Good planning in bus schedule will come handy.

The plant, tree, and flower collections are diverse. If you're into plants, plenty descriptions about each one is available in English.

I was there mostly for the tranquil ambience after spending 2 days in the Almaeda and historic downtown Malaga. There are options for good amount of walking: easy, medium, and challenging. I took the challenging option, and finished in 1,5 hour without any problem.

If you finish your visit with plenty of time before your bus schedule or simply in need of a meal, go to the only restaurant close to the entrance. When I was there at 3 PM on Sunday, the place was packed with locals, as visible from more than 20 cars parked.

This was a lovely environment, not in the same mould as British botanic gardens, but with shady areas, and open areas with a range of plants suitable for the climate, and the relaxed enviroment that gardens of this type normally create

I was positively surprised, really nice this botanical garden and not as noisy and dirty as the rest of Andalucia! Hopefully no college classes are allowed!

The owner of the little open air restaurant speaks English too is very friendly and has an excellent and healthy carrot cake you must try too!

These gardens have the potential to be fabulous. Unfortunately they are not kept as well as they could be, although still very attractive. But the main problem for visitors to Malaga without a car is that the seems to be no direct public transport. We took the no.2 bus from Malaga which was a frequent service BUT stops a good kilometre away from the gardens . So you then have to walk along roads, often with no clear pathway, through an underpass, over a motorway to eventually get to the garden entrance. I visited on a sunny day in February and just pleasantly warm, how you would do this walk in the summer months is beyond me. Then when you arrive you have no energy to explore the gardens themselves!

Every day we walked trough this place on our way to the beach, last day we stopped and looked around. Every single part was a perfect composition. We had a very romantic time there.
