This is the restaurant from the magnificent Molina Lario hotel. It was our third visit to Malaga and our second stay at Molina Lario but on every visit, to this great city, we go at least once to the El Cafe Del Bolsa.  We were very much looking forward to have dinner there again so we already dropped in on the day of our arrival.  Obviously they need to change the menu every now and than but we already got the impression that the plates would be less sophisticated than before.  We were surprised that only two tables were taken that night... unfortunately that's really not a good sign for a Spanish restaurant, especially on a Friday night!  The food was ok but not outstanding and the waiters weren't as attentive as we would have liked, we found it even very disturbing when they were yelling at each other throughout the dining room.  Overall it was a bit of a disappointment.
As being hotel guests we hoped for a nicer experience during breakfast, to bad because it got even worse!   My wife and I had chosen a nice table in the patio but suddenly, while we were enjoying our breakfast, came this guy along who was extremely concerned about the well-being of the plants in the patio.  Was it the gardener, we don't know, but he noticed that the plants, which were placed in gigantic flower pots were provided with way to much water and needed to be drained immediately!  We thought that he tried to explain us, in Spanish, that it would be better to move inside the restaurant because he was about to tip those pots over to remove the water.  We couldn't believe our eyes when he actually tried to poor the water out of these massive one-meter-high pots.  It became almost hilarious when he realized that he couldn’t handle this pot because of it’s weight so it fell over instead of tipping over!  It missed our table by an inch but nobody got hurt and there was no real damage to the plant or to anything else but now there was this smelly muddy water flowing under our table towards us. So, as most of the people on the patio, we escaped into the restaurant, you really can’t enjoy breakfast smelling something like sewage water. We weren't amused at all but the other staff members just laughed about it!!!
By far the worst thing we've seen is the fact that they don't replace all the cutlery after people have finished their breakfast and have left the table.  They quickly clean up the table and if they assume that you didn't use for example your knife they just complete the set with a clean spoon and fork!!!!  We've been to all kind of restaurants and everybody knows that a dishwasher doesn’t always deliver perfectly cleaned tableware but we do prefer the dishwasher above the possibility of the cutlery being licked clean by the previous person at the table. Never did we see something similar, it’s certainly not worthy a restaurant of a 4 star hotel! It’s rather repulsive!

We traveled to Malaga at the end of our trip through Spain simply to "catch a flight" to Rome. Much to our surprise, this was a lovely city we all agreed we need to return to. Another wonderful surprise was El Café de Bolsa, not only was the food delicious and the wine tasty, the service was exemplary. I would definitely suggest this restaurant to anyone traveling to this city.
