We've had a 4 day stay here. We asked for a room on the rooftop which had a magnificent view. Apparently the other rooms weren't as spacious as ours, so definitely ask for one on the rooftop.
There is a bar downstairs which is very populars amongst the local youngsters, and is quite nice to hang out. You can rent a loungebed on the beach, which we found a real added value.
The only thing I've missed was a decent breakfast, but the offer next door is very tasty!

Room Tip: ask for a room on the rooftop.

This hotel was AMAZING for the price we paid - couldn't get accommodation in a cardboard box in Australia for the same price. Great atmosphere with the bar underneath. Not even a road between our window and the sea. And the rooftop spa with views to die for.

Taxi from airport to city center took about 20 min. Hotel Chancla is approx. 8 or 10 more min. on the other side of city ctr ... a little too far for a leisure walk into town, but it was our choice to stay on the beachfront.
The hotel has no street access so the taxi dropped us off at the closest accessible street (which was about 2 blk walk to the hotel) but was a pleasant stroll along the walkway next to the sand (even with lugging suitcases). The hotel itself is small boutique style, with bar/restaurant overlooking an amazing view of the coast line. The husband/wife owners greeted us cordially, gave us the key & directed upstairs. Warning, the room was TINY! I knew that going into it from the online photos we looked at upon booking - but chose it anyway because we wanted to be by the beach. We watched the beautiful sunset at the Hotel Chancla bar. There are several restaurants & bars along the beach walkway, but shopping is next to none. If you want to shop and be in the hub of action, I'd suggest a place in town. This hotel is a cozy charmer; but If you're looking for 4 or 5 star glam, this won't be for you!
