“Lovely and free to visit”
Reviewed January 27, 2013

There's a little museum right next to it and from there they even organise walking tours of the theatre. All completely free!

“Something more..”
Reviewed January 27, 2013

We expected more to see in the museum but actually what you can see inside is a video and some little pieces. Skip the museum and go directly to the ruins!

“Don't miss this!”
Reviewed January 21, 2013

This is a well preserved Roman theatre, just outside the walls of the Alcazar and visiting it makes one realise just how long this part of Span has had a rich civilisation. It also has its own small visitors' centre, which adds to the interest. A pleasant afternoon can start with the Theatre and move on to the Alcazar, then mount the hill above to the Castillo to enjoy the museum there and the spectacular views.

Forget italian style ruins... great to walk by but keep on walking really. The area is good for an hour or so walk about.

“Open all the year!”
Reviewed January 18, 2013

The 2nd century BC open air Roman theatre stands near the old Customs building, now being restored, and at the foot of a broad pedestrianiased thoroughfare leading down from the Plaza Merced. (If you take this route, you will pass the back door and garden of the famous bar "El Pimpi" - whose waiters once "pimped" for sailors!) The theatre is now sufficiently restored for performances to be held all the year round, given Málaga's wonderful local climate. It has an excellent and comprehensive Visitors' centre, staffed by very helpful assistants.
