We visited the Robin Hood last year following substantial investment by new owners in extensive renovations and found the food to be good but the service incredibly slow and disorganised. Having heard a new manager had been installed and service improved we returned and were met at the door by the manager himself (Colin). He couldn't have been more welcoming or accommodating and I noticed him going out of his way to ensure adults and children alike were being looked after. Other members of staff were equally hospitable and eager to please. The service was incredibly prompt and our main course choices served, if anything, too promptly inclining us to believe that vegetables were cooked in anticipation of rather than to customer orders. We suggested that the food might be served on heated plates too as the food itself might have been hotter. All in all though an 8 out of 10 experience and Robin Hood very much does what it says on the tin and does it very well.
