We visited this resort with my best friend and his Spanish (very helpfull) wife last november/december. It is a very relaxing resort. the only odd thing is that more than 50% of the amenities were closed. In spite of that there was a over 90% occupancy. This resort is loved by many, because you do not need all the amenities on the property, you can go anywhere in the neighbourhood. The main restaurant was open, excellent food for lunch and dinner, we did not try the breakfast, because my friends never take breakfast early in the morning. So my wife and I had our cup of tea with croissants a little later in the morning which was very relaxing too. The onsite store is well equipped and you can by there the loveliest fresh croissants, and bread. Warm from the oven. Closeby are a few pretty good restaurnts, but the best restaurant by far in the neighbourhood is in Benahavis, a little town only 20 min. by car with al lovely and pictoresque city cnetre, worth a visit. The name of the restaurant is El Castillo, run by a Swedish (crazy) woman with assistance of here father. We had a lovely evening there, with big laughs and excellent food an wine.
The resort has three different theme swimmingpools; kidspool, activities pool and a relax pool.
The appartments were spacy and comfortably furnished, with a balcony. there are also accessible appartments for disabled. The appartments on the seafrontside of the buildings are the three bedroom apps. we stayed in on of the app. next to the seafront app. We requested had eveningsun side, which was wonderfull, because in the mornings it was mostly cloudy.

Room Tip: Do not choos a room next to an elevator, because in the morning housekeeping uses that a lot.

Stayed for a week in January with my wife, and mother. My 22-yo son who is living in Spain joined us for a few days as well.
Good bits: great staff at front desk, in restaurant, maintenance and cleaners - couldn't fault them. Even found the sales exec for the timeshare package to be genuinely nice and professional, unlike the pushy ones you sometimes find.
Food at the restaurant was excellent for a hotel (ie non-specialist) restaurant.
Rooms well decorated and well maintained. Had everything one could want (two bed-suite), including full kitchen with oven, microwave etc, plus dishwasher, plus clothes washing machine and drier in the utility cupboard.
Grounds immaculate. Numerous swimming pools (too cold for the outdoor ones though!) Inside pool looked fine.
Beach typical Southern Spain. No beach vendors probably because it was out of season.
Less-good bits: It's a bit out of the way in a residential development, and there is nothing much to do of an evening within easy walking distance outside the resort.
A car is a definite requirement if you want to do any sightseeing in the surrounding towns and villages.

The local bus is about five/ten minutes walk away. There are a number of restaurants and shops on the other side of the highway, over a footbridge by the bus stop.
Very quiet when we visited (30% occupancy?) My wife and mother loved it. My son said "This is for old people" - probably reflected the lack of night life in the vicinity, as much as anything..

Room Tip: The restaurant and fitness centre closed during our stay for refurbishment - apparently they do that...

We stayed here mid November and had a lovely stay. The suite we had was spacious and very well appointed, full kitchen and it even had a washer and drier!
The lounge had a very comfortable sofa, and the balcony got the morning sun, perfect for al fresco breakfasts!
The weather was warm enough to sit out by the pool in the sun and enjoy reading.
The restaurant was good rather than great, the meals I had - meat was always overlooked :(
Great base for exploring the local area, lovely villages nearby such as Casares, and not to far from Ronda which is fantastic. Lots of great local restaurants available nearby (the food in the nearby Robin Hood pub was great - it far exceeded our expectations! - and there was good live music)

Good indoor pool and gym, lovely grounds all well manicured, and a well stocked mini market on site who loan out board games for free!

So good would be more than happy to return again, ( we will be visiting its sister hotel in Marbella in Feb '13! )

We stayed at the playa andaluza for 4 nights and it was difficult to leave because the place is FANTASTIC, from the check in to check out every experience a real pleasure, a great customer service. We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment, a home away from home with everything you need, the kids were fascinated with all the activities and amenities that he resort has to offer. Very comfy food, excellent rooms each with ensuite. We all love it and I highly recommended for families.

We have visited many marriotts and the andaluza marriott is no different , great service, rooms are clean and have everything you need, you would probably need a car depending on what you want to do on holiday.but this place isn't far away from some beautiful villages , also we had a trip to Gibraltar on an off day and that was good to go to the Morrisons to buy all the food for the week, back to the rooms ! The rooms are large, have uk channels and all the amenities for cooking and staying in ! Our child is only 1yr old but in time to come we will be revisiting and that will bring the children's facilities into their own !! It's a shame that the weather isn't great in march otherwise I would be there in a shot !!

This is our 4th visit to the Malaga area. We use our timeshare week to come and vacation on the Costa del Sol. The Marriott's Playa Andaluza was an amazing experience. We stayed during the Christmas holidays and even though it wasn't full, the service was amazing. The front desk was attentive and the concierge was helpful. Every time we needed something whether it be advice on a restaurant or more pots and pans, the front desk was always there to accommodate us. The pools outside were too cold to swim but the indoor pools were heated and the jacuzzis were divine. I managed to squeeze in a massage and I was very happy with the service. We plan on coming back here.

My family stayed a week at this hotel and we absolutely enjoyed it! Our kids wanted to stay at the beach and pool all day! We've travelled to a lot of places this past summer, but after staying on the beach for so long, my daughter said, "this is our first holiday!" Nothing like the sun, surf and sand to keep the kids entertained. The beach is a little to rocky and the surf is too strong to really make going in the water enjoyable, but that was the only real downside to the property. The staff was friendly and had lots of activities for children. The restaurant needed a little more variety, but the food was good. We would stay here again!
