just returned from our annual holiday with extended family of 11. As usual this resort met all our needs on a multitude of levels, we have been coming for 7 yrs now. Special mention to the front desk manager that I really tested this year when i had confused our arrival dates and found out the day before i had 11 people arriving the day before i had the accommodation reserved! he was pleasant, helpful and more importantly had sorted it out for me before we got there. It says a lot that when we finally encountered a less helpful member of staff we were all really shocked - it had NEVER happened before. We had reserved an extra bed using the vacation planning tool as usual - when we arrived no extra bed and less than helpful person in housekeeping.
For those less familiar with site, this is well kept site with roomy well stocked accommodation, a real home from home. Plenty to do in the daytime for all ages but very quiet at night so most people will need a car or to be prepared to pay the 20 euro each way taxi fare to get around - be warned though, police in this area are very vigilant at stopping and testing for drink/driving so the taxi far may ultimately prove to be the cheaper option. Breakfast no problem - don't miss the hot bread and assorted croissant on site - throw in a pack of ham, some good cheese and a little fruit and you have a meal fit for a king. Snacks round pool had improved this year but restaurant on site and in the beach chiringuito has been so consistently bad (and expensive) we ignored them this year - too many other good choices in the area. Beach can be a problem, very stony and this year sea urchins and jelly fish made sea access tricky. Some may find the lack of water sports an issue.
If you want a taste of the real spain though make time for the nearby town of san pedro de alicantara, nothing fancy and the wrong side of the road for the beach but a great place if 'people watching' with a cup of coffee is to your taste.

What more can I say about this fantastic place which hasn't already been said? We bought in after a taster weekend last year, as we were so impressed. I like my home comforts, and the apartments really are a home from home - all you need to take is your clothes! Really large, comfy beds with beautiful bed linen. Lovely bathrooms, ample seating and fab, fully equipped kitchen. Plenty of space for everyone, our party consisted of Mum and Dad, two teenage daughters, plus friends who visited with their 6 year old son. Although the resort was full, it never appeared that busy - there are so many swimming pools plus the beach and there was plenty of space to accommodate everyone during the day. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly and helpful and a credit to Marriott. Best to hire a car, as there is not much within walking distance of the resort. Only 40 minute drive from Malaga Airport. We all rated this as one of the best holidays we have ever had. Can't wait to go again next year!

Room Tip: We had a room on the 2nd floor of Sevilla building, overlooking the children's pool. Very quiet with a beautiful view of the resort gardens, down to the sea.

Typical Marriott resort. It is well done, and will not disappoint. We stayed in a two bedroom. It is huge!!! Nice kitchen, laundry, dining, family and each bedroom is enormous. Rooms were absolutely spotless, nicely decorated, just beautiful. Resort itself has three pools including one with a slide that the kids will spend most of the time on. Unlike US/Mexico resorts the staff won't hassle you about your slide technique, meaning you can have an unreal time with the kids. You won't get hassled about timeshares! Only thing that surprised us is there are only two bars in the pool areas areas and they don't wait on the pools. Not a big deal, just not used to that. There is a grocery store that has most everything you need and it is reasonably priced. We picked up eggs/ready made pizzas etc. and fed a family of four for less than $40/day on a few days. If you're in a rental vehicle there is a local supermarket about 5 minutes drive if you hang a left and drive through/around the crowne plaza. Room comes with a great espresso maker. Just buy a bunch of capsules from the store at .75E, pop in the machine and you have a pretty reasonably tasting capuccino or espresso. Very cool addition.

Room Tip: Request a room facing the pools and more importantly away from the elevators. The elevators seemed extremely noisy for some reason.

This is a MVCI resort (timeshare) which we bought into in 2003 before it was built. We have watched the development and subsequent completion of the resort with interest and satisfaction. The apartment (we own a 2 bed) is well appointed, large en suite master bedroom and smaller en suite guest room. Kitchen is well equipped with every conceivable amenity and the utility room holds a tumble drier and washing machine. This is rounded off with a spacious lounge/diner. Each apartment has its own balcony. Every room has its own flat screen TV. This is not a hotel as such but a resort with apartments and on site restaurant, health spa and several outdoor swimming pools. Easy access to a sandy beach and sun beds provided by the resort. The staff are invariably friendly, especially in reception where nothing is too much trouble. The apartments are serviced daily by friendly and efficient housekeeping staff. Prices on the resort are quite high, especially in the Market Place but food in the restaurant is generally of a good standard. There is also a beach 'chiringuito' which provides expensive fast food and cold beer! There are plenty of restaurants within a relatively short walk of the resort to appeal to all tastes. For wider exploration a car is essential. We always go in the last 2 weeks of June and thoroughly enjoy our stay. When we bought into this resort we had intended to use the II exchange programme but we like the place so much we cannot see us doing this. Highly recommended!!

Room Tip: When you book your holiday you are sent a form to fill out where you can give a preference for floor, and morning or evening sun.

We as a couple in our 20's had a great time, very relaxing and very well maintained. Staff were really friendly location is great (only 3 miles to Puerto Banus). Small criticism would be restaurant on sight was average but expensive and there was very little entertainment in the evening. Overall I would recommend as there is no riffraff.

Room Tip: There is a supermarket a 5 minute walk from the resort that is literally 1/3 the price and 10 times as much choice ;-)
