I travelled to Sun Gardens with my 75 year-old dad, 25 year-old niece and her boyfriend - we all loved it!
The apartment is just beautiful with lovely marble floors and stylish decor throughout. The sitting room is huge with two comfy sofas and relaxing arm chair and footstool which was perfect for watching the TV with all the UK channels. There’s a choice of two dining tables, one inside and one just through the sliding doors on the downstairs balcony.
The kitchen had everything we needed and the bedrooms were all comfortable and of a good size - the master is massive! Both bathrooms were full of toiletries that previous guests had left behind... It was like Boots in there!
Having two balconies and a large roof terrace meant we could all have our own space to read and chill out.
The view over to the pool and surrounding gardens was lovely. We had the nearest pool to ourselves most of the week - the water was freezing, but it was nice to lie around.
The area is residential, but at the bottom of the road there’s a long row of shops and restaurants. The apartment owner, Peter, had emailed us a list of recommend restaurants and takeaways and we tried all of them out, every one delicious. You can also get a taxi down there, too.
Booking the apartment was so easy and straightforward with Peter replying to emails immediately. He sent us lots of useful info before we flew out including directions, hints about the area, apartment and as I mentioned, ideas of places to eat. When there was a teeny issue about the apartment, Peter called me the evening before we left to inform us about it, something he needn’t have done. Fantastic service.
If there was any downside to the apartment was that my dad found the spiral staircase up to the roof terrace quite taxing, but that’s a personal thing and the rest of us ran up and down it no problem.
We all agreed we’d definitely return to Sun Gardens again. It was such a social space yet big enough for everyone to do their own thing - can’t recommend it enough to families or groups of friends.
Sun Gardens is a small residential area between Marbella and Estepona.
The accommodation is huge and spacious with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (both with a bath!) that can comfortably house 6-8 people. There are 2 balcony areas and a great roof terrace which is fully secluded and not overlooked.
2 immaculately maintained pools, the smaller of the 2 (which is still at least 10mtr long) right next to the apartment. We stayed for 10 days and shared it with no more than 3 other people on a couple of occasions, most of the time having it entirely to ourselves, this was during August.
Just off the A7 that runs from Malaga along the coast of the Costa Del Sol. Close enough for access to the wide range of activities and great beaches up and down the coast. Great bars and cafe/restaurants within a slow 10 minute walk.
The owners we "incredibly" helpful and informative. No hitches at any point, communication within the day via email, and a great key service. This felt like you were in your own home in the sun.
Facilities in the apartment were excellent. Air con, TV with English channels, fully equipped kitchen.
This is a perfect holiday rental for families with children, ours aged 14 and 17, but would have been great when they we babies to teens.
Not much else to say but thanks to the owners. We hope to be back soon.
We booked the apartment for 3 generations, grandparent, daughter and grandchildren and were not in any way disappointed when we arrived, the apartment is massive and so well fitted out. We loved the fact that it had not been stripped to the bare essentials like most holiday lets. The only thing we needed on our first day was a carton of milk, it was great that you could use anything in the apartment and just replace it when needed. the grandchildren loved it, the pool shown in the photos was virtually their personal property for the 2 weeks, and this was the first 2 weeks in August!! A car would have been an advantage but everything is close by and public transport in this region is both efficient and not expensive so it was not a problem. Everything about the apartment shown in the pictures and claimed by Stephen and Peter is 100% genuine. We loved it !!!!!!!!
The apartment was lovely! Family of five shared and had plenty of room. Beds very comfortable master bedroom is very big with its own walk-in wardrobe and ensuite plus a huge balcony! Two other bedrooms have two singles each which can be put together and there's another single bedroom too! 4 bedrooms altoghether we had one unused. Kitchen has everything you need dishwasher, washing machine, large fridge/freezer, cooker, separate hob, toaster, sandwich maker, kettle etc. Making dinner was simple! The roof terrace is very large up a set of swirly steps. Sun beds up there plus a fridge and another dining table with chairs great for evenings! The living room terrace has a big dining table and chairs too sun in the evening so we ate there mostly as it has a nice electric ceiling shade. The pool is accessed round the building which only took a couple of minutes and there's four sun beds for anyone to use we used them all the time no one else there most days! Great having pool to yourself!! Altogether BRILLIANT!! Loved it and the area too! Great restaurants 3 mins walk away must be 10 or more close by and also four supermarkets all close including Lidl's and Aldi across the bridge (2 mins walk to nearest!) Bus stop 3 mins walk. Highly recommend it!!
I stayed at the Sun Gardens with my family which included teenagers and young adults and we all thoroughly enjoyed our holiday!
Our apartment was very spacious and attractive with everything we needed - even beach towels! Air conditioning throughout, large balconies and a fab roof terrace. Beautiful gardens with two pools and loungers. A lovely selection of bars and restaurants, and supermarkets a short stroll away at the bottom of the road. Conveniently situated close to a main route into Pueto Banus, Marbella and Estepona, all only a short journey away. The owners of the property were very helpful and answered my numerous questions truthfully and quickly!
Would highly recommend and would definitely go again!!
Having stayed in the area before I knew what I was looking for when booking Sun Gardens, namely golf nearby and easy walking distance to shops, restaurants and bars. The golf rounds we played were all within 15-20 minutes and the "strip" down at the A7 (E340) can be walked in 5-10 minutes. The apartment was clean and well equipped but we did not make any use of the kitchen as it was breakfast on the "strip" and then on to golf each day (except when we got washed out which is in the hands of the Gods!). We also ate out at the great selection of restaurants each evening. There are numerous tapas bars that also catered for "in-between" snacks. However, the apartment allows for self catering either in the form of a take-away (available in most restaurants) by purchase from the nearby supermarkets (you really need a car as it's too hot to carry shopping?). On a slight downside, but not something that bothered us, there are steps to access the apartment which may be cumbersome for elderly people.
Perfectly located for access from the airports between Malaga and Gibraltar. Lovely quiet complex with a variety of pools and plenty of space for the kids to play safely. Great apartment with very spacious rooms and outdoor space on the balconies or roof terrace for outdoor dining and sunbathing. Walking distance to coffee shops, restaurants and supermarket. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners who helped with various questions we had before we went away! Thankyou, we will be back next year!
