Reading the one star reviews, we can only assume that there must be bad days, but we had a great day today. We used a Groupon voucher for 4 and arriving at 14:00, we were the only people upstairs. The tables were laid out nicely, the service good and the presentation of the food was of a high standard. Two of the starters were quite large (the croquettes and the tortilla de camerones). The main course, Lobster Paella was a little light on the lobster, but the rice was done perfectly and the taste of the paella was perfect and the just enough for 4.
There was no choice of desert and, having been previously been frozen, could have done with a couple more minutes to defrost. One desert spoon had to be change because it had not been washed properly.
We were not rushed and the service was excellent and when we left at about 15:30 the restaurant was quite busy, with most tables occupied.

we travel from Dallas especifically for Cadiz Carnaval, our terrible Experience there in el aljibe place was the customer service,it took for-ever to get our drinks, then we ordered well done steak and pork plates, the steak and pork was raw ,we ask the (manager) to cooked more and it was brought back to us the same way not once but 3 times and over that she said that we have to eat it the way they served regardless how we wanted donep, we requested for the owner and some one there by the bar call himself the owner wich he did not care for the issue, also he said that he can not do anything about it.we walk out of there paying only for the drinks very disappointed,we found some other restaurants w/ better service around them, el aljibe NOT RECOMMENDED !!!!!

Lovely terrace overlooking a beautiful church, the Spanish tapas are excellent and very friendly service. I recommend the tortitas de camarones and the pork. we had a pleasant time with a good selection of spanish wines.

Nothing flash about the place or its service other than quality of the food (and the local seafood helps considerably). We had patatas bravas (our yardstick and still trying to find an exemplar), and then some really good seafood. Rockfish with rice cooked in a fish stock was fantastic. This is probably one of the nicer streets in Cadiz (ie not heaving with tourists off the cruise ships) and features local produce. Well worth a try.
