“Lovely find”
Reviewed May 9, 2013

We noticed this hotel had great reviews on trip adviser so looked it up on it's own website. It looked very picturesque. On arrival it met all our expectations. Wonderful helpful, friendly staff. Clean and in perfect order. Breakfast was great, we could help ourselves to a very good selection of dishes and as it was served between 7.30 am and 11.30 am there was always space for us in the small breakfast room. Our rooms were colonial in décor on the third floor, bright and clean with super bathrooms which included an overhead shower that was always hot and powerful. We were only disturbed once by a few noisy revellers walking by in the early hours of the morning. Not the hotel's fault obviously. The location was in the old town, just behind the port in a narrow side street. It was an easy walk to the bus stop, the ferry port and the railway station. If going into " new" Cadiz for the beach or night-life best to bus or taxi. It is at least a 40 minute walk. The long beach in the new town is award winning for cleanliness and worth a visit. The old town has plenty of walks, A cathedral, museums, a fort, it's own small clean beach, parks and squares to look at. Great hotel and great experience.

Room Tip: Higher floors are quieter.

If you look for a very romantic small boutique hotel with beautifully decorated rooms, friendly service at a very affordable price right in the middle of Cadiz than you can’t find a better place! Highly recommended and reason enough for us to come back to Cadiz!

We stayed at this hotel in February 2013. It is a very nice hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. We stayed three nights. The first night we spent in a street side room which we found a little noisy. We mentioned this to the staff who promptly upgraded us to a top floor room towards the back of the hotel. This room was quiet and luxurious and spotlessly clean. The breakfast, included in the room price, was delicious and the coffee really really good. The person serving breakfast was really charming. Women seem run this hotel and it shows!! We really enjoyed Cadiz and loved staying at this hotel - it was the best of the lot during our recent six week stay in Spain. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Room Tip: Avoid the street side rooms if you are a light sleeper

we were booked for appartment but we were offered hotel room because there was room. It was advisable for us take the room because the appartments although lovely were a few streets away and had to walk. Parking is not easy but you can park away from hotel in garage especially for hotel. There was an additional cost for this but we thought it was worth the extra knowing the car was completely safe. This hotel is in the very old part of Cadiz s streets are narrow and hundreds of them. Lovely friendly staff extremely helpful. We wouild recommend this area and hotel if you are interested in the old part of the city. Good Value.

We stayed here for 1 night in August 2012 as part of a short side trip to a stay on the Costa del Sol. We were travelling with our 11 month son and this hotel provided excellently for us. Free travel cot and he even got his own little bath robe with ears :-) Our room had a lovely large bed and we loved the traditional style of the place. The breakfast room was very nice with a good choice and a lovely coffee! Really well positioned to explore the city.

The hotel is located just off the main avenue near to the port in the main part of the city.

The hotel was very welcoming, I felt at home as soon as I arrived. Light and airy with character. It has a 2 star rating, but I have seen 4 star hotels that aren’t quite as good as this one. The staff were attentive and I was offered free Wi-fi connection for my 3 day stay from anywhere in the hotel and also a computer downstairs in the hall in case I needed it.

The breakfast each morning was good. I particularly appreciated the plates which were mismatched and different, some floral ceramic patterns, glass, or plain pottery, depending on your mood you could select different ones. It had a country farmhouse edge. There were cold cuts, different breads and pastries, plenty of juices and yogurts and a friendly waiter to bring you lovely coffee or tea as soon as you arrived to your table.

The staff were very friendly and helpful in this lovely boutique hotel. The location is excellent, in the old part of Cadiz. The train station was about a 10 minute walk. The Museum of Cadiz was about 6-8 minutes away, and the cathedral was about 10-15 minutes away, walking.
My husband and I splurged on the suite and did not regret it, although it seemed to us to be more of a junior suite (there was no major partition between the sitting area and bed). It is in the attic of the property, with a view of the street and other buildings (no ocean view). Other reviewers have noted the charming decor, and we completely agree. The bed had a canopy.
The bathroom was spacious, with a jacuzzi tub and showerhead and twin sinks. However, there was no type of shower curtain around the tub, so the water splashed all over the floor when using the showerhead.
The continental breakfast was complimentary; the coffee served was excellent. It was possible to take the coffee and food back to the room, which was nice. (We did that with the coffee.) There is also a small bar area.
As others have noted, we do not understand why it is listed as a 2-star property; to us, we felt it should be at least 3.
There is a Hop-On/Hop-Off bus stop by the harbour with the cruise ships, about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. It stops by the sandy beaches and in the newer part of the city.
