Owner description: Watch tower from the eighteenth century, situated in the down town and the highest point of the city, turned today into a focal point of cultural interest. “Beautiful way to see Cadiz. Great language skills”

I have been to Torre Tavira many times. I find it very beautiful. Streets in Cadiz are usually narrow and looking at the buildings from above makes it easier to appreciate all their splendor.

“Great views”

Enjoyable views from the tower around Cadiz, and interesting talk based around the camera obscura. A few steps to get up, but well worth it.

“Do not miss this treat”

Truly well done, fun and gives a great overview of the city. If you are unable to walk the many steps it would not be advisable to try though there is a campaign to install a lift.

“Excellent visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 3, 2014

This was a very interesting and informative visit. Be warned that there are a lot of stairs, including spiral ones, to climb. Go to the toilet in the basement before you start and you will be OK! Whilst we waited for an English tour (tour is not the right word as you stand in the dark around a large dish) we looked round the, quite basic, exhibition and went up onto the flat roof. The views over Cadiz were fantastic. The 'tour' itself was really interesting, with about 20 of us gathered round the dish. The guide was very informative and interesting and spoke alternatively in Spanish and English. Recommended visit.

“not what we expected”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 11, 2014

We searched this camera obsura out as it was in the guide book. The view from the top of the tower was fantastic and I could imagine Sir Francis Drake coming into the harbour. The watch towers thoughout the city could be seen and were interesting. The images were good once we were in the room but I felt if we had been asked to move around the table t follow the view it might have been better (there were only 10 people). As ir was I saw most of the views upside down!
