“Central Location, but noisy”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

We appreciated the cheerful color, cleanliness, and great location, but the open design of the hotel echoes sound right into the rooms. This was truly a problem during our stay. Both the room and the bed were small, and only one pillow stretched across the bed. Another reviewer commented that the hotel sits on a pedestrian street. Do take note of this, because it is impossible to drive your car there. Nearby streets are narrow and winding, so it is best to park in the public garage at the bottom of the hill and drag your bags up. Otherwise, the hotel is located well for the old city. The bathroom was well-lit and provided a magnifying mirror and a good hair dryer. We also had very good wifi.

This hotel is in a great location in Cadiz, close to pretty much everything.
Its an old building in a narrow street, but inside the hotel rooms all open onto the central hotel lobby on different floors. For a 3* hotel I have no complaints about the decor, service or cleanliness.
However, our room didn't have a window (only one above the door which opened onto the inside of the hotel) and the air conditioning was pretty ineffective, meaning the room was incredibly stuffy even in April, and if you opened the window above the door it was pretty noisy in the morning with banging doors. Not a great sleep.

Having recently toured through Andalucia, my son and I having been disappointed with Granada decided on the spur of the moment to travel to Cadiz. Consequently, when we arrived in Cadiz late at night we had not had the opportunity to look online for a decent hotel. Thus we decided to entrust ourselves to a taxi driver who we asked to take us to a reasonable priced and nice hotel in the old quarter.

The hotel we were taken to was the Hotel Las Cortes De Cádiz. We were not disappointed. It is a lovely hotel in the old quarter, about 15 minutes walk from the railway station which is also where the coach station is located. The hotel is delightful, with professional, friendly and very helpful staff. The rooms were clean and when I asked for more pillows there was no messing about and the extra pillows were delivered very quickly.

The hotel also has its own bar and restaurant and the food was reasonably priced. There was also free access to a computer.

The room we had was on the first floor and overlooked the front alley. The alley is a much used throughway for pedestrian traffic as there are a large number of shops along its length. It is also used by a number of eating establishments for those wishing to eat out. That said neither could we say that it was noisy, but rather bustling with Spanish social life which is what we desired to see rather than the usual tourist traps. In any event the social life dies away after 10pm allowing for a good nights sleep.

This is a sound, nice clean hotel with good standards and is ideal for the traveller looking for a reasonably priced accommodation.

Both my son and I would return again.

Room Tip: This is diificult because as with most hotels located in the heart of the historic quarters of most...

Located in an illustrious building at the heart of Cadiz's historic quarter, Las Cortes de Cádiz is a very confortable hotel. The personnel, beginning with Pepa, its charming hostess and owner, is always attentive and ready to help.

We stayed here for three nights, Friday,Saturday and Sunday. Friday night the street was busy and a little noisy but we were on the front of the hotel with a big window, which we liked. The room was big enough and comfortable, very clean, and bathroom was very good. There is breakfast but we ate out. The staff are helpful and nice. The location is very central and an easy walk to where ever you want to go.

I just popped in and asked a room on Sat evening, and yes, what a lovely place with excellent service ! Did get the room and parking for the car around the corner, and everything was more than expected. You need to be realistic when you want a hotel in the old town, yes, you will have the spanish lively people very close and the parking, yes, you need to pay for that if you want to have it near.

Room Tip: Rooms on street side, 2nd or 3rd floor are great
