On a pedestrianised street but since we had no car, not a problem. Based on previous reviews, I had booked a room with a window to the outside. It faced the street--we were NOT bothered by noise from the street--it was small with adequate bathroom facilities, bed was comfortable. Breakfast was OK, the room really too small for the number of residents. One girl on the reception desk was delightful, happy, smiling, very helpful. The other was miserable but she did have a terrible head cold!
On the whole, an OK place for one or two nights but no longer.

I was quite worried about staying here after I read the reviews. I will try and give an unbiased view of the place. Situation - It is in a pedestrian area, the Calle San Francisco. So, you can sit outside the hotel (see my pictures) and watch the world go by. The Menu de Dia for 9 Euros is great value! There are plenty of car parks if you drive, but we came by train, and it is a short walk from the brand new railway station. It is easy to get to all parts of the old city and the town beach from the hotel. We arrive late to a warm welcome, and all the staff we meet we good at their jobs. Our room overlooked the street but had double glazing- it is however an old hotel so all rooms will vary- ours was large, air con was quiet and bathroom and room spotless. They left sweets out at night too. Now, the shower, yes, it is small. If you are over 5 foot 10, over traditionally built, it will be small but there is a good flow of water. My colleagues had much smaller rooms but they were also clean, and yes, the sound can reverberate from the street. If you are a light sleeper this may not be your kind of hotel. The atrium in the middle is very traditional and I liked having the rooms named. Work your way up to the roof and you can sit and admire the rooftops of Cadiz, and the huge cruise ships docking for the day trippers. Just behind the hotel is the Oratorio de Santa Cueves which you can see from the roof, and visit for a few Euros. It has Goyas. The breakfast is scrambled eggs, sausage, fresh fruit, cheese, ham and pastries. The coffee is good and my main complaint would be the bread. Not as yummy fresh as I like. I have however given the hotel excellent as I feel some of the moans and groans below are very unfounded. It's traditional, small, friendly and very central to lots of cafes, bars and markets. I am sure an inside room is a bit cave like, but how long are you in your room in the sunny Med? I would certainly stay again.

Room Tip: If you like quiet ask for one at the back, and not opening onto the landing.

We were warned that the hotel had no on site parking but were not prepared for the difficulties in reaching it. The map does not indicate that it is in a pedestrian precinct. After locating it we had to park in a public car park some 200 yards away and carry our luggage to the hotel which coloured our impressions a little. The hotel staff are friendly & helpful. The rooms are adequate but rather dated even tho there is WiFi in each room. We had a room facing onto the pedestrian precinct and it was noisy even quite late at night. The buffet breakfast was nothing special but adequate.

Room Tip: Don't have a room facing the street if you can avoid it.

A lovely clean hotel in the middle of old Cadiz. The staff are all very friendly and helpful.

A bonus is free wifi (it's meant to be public areas but worked in our room). There is a nice terrace on the roof together with an open gym if you fancy it!!

The only downside is that our room had no window, although not suprising as space is at a premium. Next time we would ask for a room onto the street.

We stayed here for one night last week. A warm, helpful and welcoming greeting from the young lady on reception, lovely clean and functional city centre hotel in a great location, but let down by an tiny, airless room, with noisy aircon and a small window leading to the landing. It was also next to the lift - which was very noisy at 4:00 in the morning, and at 3:00, and 2:30, etc etc . A bit of a shame, as otherwise it was a great little place.

Room Tip: If they put you in room 304 then I suggest you ask for another or bring oxygen and ear muffs.
