“Great food, pleasant place, good service”
Reviewed December 23, 2013 via mobile

At first we were attracted by the minimalism and good atmosphere. Then we found great tuna tartar and several other good dishes on the menu. We are a bit picky since we travelled a lot and live by sea which give us easy access to fresh seafood. This place had very friendly service and pretty fast for Spain. Btw. Tuna in all forms are great here :) We will come back here for sure if we are in Cadiz.

“Good value and choice”
Reviewed August 19, 2013 via mobile

We chose this place based on good reviews. It was very busy when we arrived for dinner and only one person taking orders, so consequently had to wait quite a bit to order, receive food and then the bill. However this is a minor criticism as everything else was very good. The food was tasty and decent sized portions. Will definitely be returning!

“Excellent Rice Dishes”
Reviewed July 6, 2013

Enjoyed a lovely evening meal here. Lovely 1st plates of prawn carpaccio and tuna/onions followed by a dish of seafood rice which was superb. The waiter served the rice at the table and you'll struggle to find a man so proud in his work. The waitress recommended a great white wine and at only 11€ a bottle it was a bargain.

Great meal, great service and views of the beach from most tables.

“Nice lunch break in Cadiz!”
Reviewed November 10, 2012 via mobile

We really liked this place! Pleasant staff and good food - I would do this one again! They offered the fried fish as a local favorite and even said they would take it off the bill if we didn't like it!!! So of course we tried it and enjoyed it!!! Great views - good food!

“At Last!!!”
Reviewed October 11, 2012

my wife is a vegetarian & we've been having quite some trouble in Spain obtaining decent veggie food - menu's are meat-ridden & even one place seriously offered a burger without the meat as their veggie option!

It was a breath of fresh air then, when the waiter at La Calle...actually showed less than the usual absolute disinterest in my wife's request for a decent dish 'sin carne, pescado' etc and said 'leave it to me' with such confidence that we did!

the dish that arrived was a beautiful but simple mixed vegetable dish prepared in seasoned olive oil. it was delicious, as was my grilled rock which he had recommended.

it's a lovely change in Spain to find a restaurant who takes pride in providing good food for ALL their clients and who don't relegate vegetarians to second or third-class citizens.

the bill came to 60 euros, which was more than we would normally pay for lunch, but well worth it in terms of quality.

one word of warning. this place does NOT serve food on football nights!
