We went 2 times to this restaurant during our week stay in Cadiz (we never go somewhere twice on a holdiday). Location is beautiful, next to the sea and it's also really nice on the inside. We had tapas there (you eat the tapas at the bar) and it was the best food we had during our roadtrip in Spain. Fresh, tasty and also very cheap! Portions are quite big (2 or 3 are enough). Waiters are friendly and service is fast.

Go there early in the evening because the place starts to fill up fast.

Our first night in Cadiz the hotel recommended this establishment. The staff was pleasant and our server suggested many dishes to try. My prawn salad, in which I expected shrimp and lettuce was a huge plate of potato salad covered in mayo with one prawn sliced and a chuck of artificial crab on top. Yuck. This was in fact listed in the salad section. The other two order a rice dish of seafood, in which looked delicious at the table next to us however when it arrived, it was a little seafood on a "rice a roni" type watery rice. Not the excellent meal we were expecting. Fortunately our restaurant selecting got better for the remainder of the visit in this lovely city.

Our hotel in Sevilla recommended we visit Balandro while in Cadiz and glad we took his advice.
Nice modern upmarket atmosphere over looking the sea at Cadiz. We sat at the bar and tried Rolled smoked salmon with cheese and dried fruits, bacaloa with hummus and fish roe AND fried Sea Anemones. All excellent and the fried foods are so lightly done. Really modern take on tapas and enjoyable if you want to be adventurous.

Slightly embarrassingly I ate here all three nights I was in Cadiz, but it does demonstrate that the food was great. The restaurant is nicely decorated in a modern glamour style with wallpaper, plastic seats and chandeliers. I sat at the bar and had tapas as opposed to the restaurant dining area. Portions were a decent size and everything was well cooked. The bar seating is in a circle round the bar and you can see into the kitchen which looks very clean and modern. The reasonable price for two to eat with wine amazed me, in London it could easily have come to double that for the quality and quantity of food/drink. The service was fine, no complaints.

We had a meal in the restaurant as opposed to the bar. Food was excellent although portions a bit big. We had cheese and leek crisps in sherry and an Iberian salad to start which were delicious, then shared a main of lobster, shrimps and crab with rice when was excellent and more than enough for two. Only criticism was that the service between courses was too quick making you feel a bit rushed. Great value for money though. We went back a few days later and had tapas at the bar which was first class. Loved the lemon sorbet in cava to finish...Very busy from 9pm on with locals and tourists alike...Great atmosphere
