“Great place to be, right in the heart of historic Cordoba.”
Reviewed February 22, 2012

Central, quiet, lovely. Very peaceful location, easy to get to from the train and bus station (bus stop San Bernado). Family run, friendly, clean double rooms with excellent ensuite and showers. A real find. One of the highlights of my trip. I loved their dog too! The only thing is I wouldn't have wanted to stay out too late as you have to ring the bell to re-enter the residence (being a family home too) and I started to feel a bit bad for troubling them when I came and went, but it was a lovely stay just the same. I would feel fine about booking my parents in here who are used to hotel accommodation.

This hotel represents everything a budget hotel should be. First of all, it is cheap: we paid €35/night for a double room. Second, the room has no frills (no TV, for example) but is comfortable, very clean, and very quiet. The hotel is in a very tranquil street of Cordoba, which means there is no traffic or noise during the night. Its decor, made out of puzzles of famous works of art, is very nice. Third, the hotel is very well located, right in Cordoba’s historic centre. The Mezquita and the Jewish Quarter are at walking distance (10 mins or so), as is also the sort of shopping area around Calle Claudio Marcelo. It is also handy if you want to get (or come from) the bus station, as there’s s bus stop very close to the hotel where you can catch a local bus to both. Finally, there is wifi available in the ground floor for free. You should bear in mind that the family that own the hotel still live in the ground floor, and the guest rooms are located in the first floor. We didn’t mind this, as the family was generally very helpful and nice. But if, for example, you plan to make a siesta in the hotel, be aware that the kids may produce a lot of noise in the afternoon!

We were very pleased with location (about a 10 minute walk from the Mezquita and major sights and about 20 min walk from the train station) given we paid $50 a night. We stayed in a double room with bathroom ensuite. The facilities were basic but very clean (room was a bit smaller than expected but bathroom was larger than we anticipated). We slept with the window open (it was a cool breezy night) and were thankful we'd packed earplugs to block out the cobbled-street noise. I would definitely recommend staying here for a few nights when you're in Cordoba.

Room Tip: Loved the rooms with a small balcony.

we stayed two nights and would stay here again. the room was clean an had a nice double bed. the pension is very charming. the spanish family who run the place basically use the central area of the pension as their living room. very interesting. in the end we only paid 60 eur for two nights, although it was advertised for 35 eur per night.

When I enterd this simple, yet lovely place I felt right at home. The room was smaller than usual, but it had a nice bed and bathroom. For under EU30, I could not have asked for more. I would say that thos place is the best value in my entire Spanish experience.

Un lugar tranquilo y non caro.

This is a large and rather lovely traditional Andalusi house. The courtyard has been roofed over, and the well is no longer there. The 'cloister' off the courtyard has been glazed in to give the family more private space. The guest rooms are upstairs on one side of the house.

The family - parents and 4 children - live in the house and run it as a Pension. There were no noise issues with the children.

My bedroom was small, bare and with little storage space. If I had been there longer than the 3 nights, I would have found this irksome. The ensuite bathroom (shower, toilet, basin) was basic - no hair-dryer, rather thin towels, no soap/gel/etc provided, no hooks or shelves for own toiletries. The wife of the owner-family loaned me her own hair-dryer when I asked.

The room was normal Spanish - marble floors, blinds over the balcony as well as shutters. As this was winter, it was heated at night - too much so for me: I turned it off. It was clean and adequately comfortable.

The hotel doesn't provide breakfast but there are cafes nearby, used by the locals, which are inexpensive and adequate.

The husband of the owner-family was helpful if we asked questions but didn't volunteer information.

The hotel is located on the edge of La Juderia (the old Jewish quarter) and is a few minutes walk from the Mezquita (the Grand Mosque). More luxurious hotels in such a location are very expensive, so the simplicity of this place suited our budget.
