Great choice in Cordoba

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Sep 29, 2019via mobile
Great location, big rooms, great shower, cold AC and very accommodating staff. My overall favorite of the 4 we stayed at. After a long day of walking, we soaked in the Roman baths in the spa included in our stay. 3 jacuzzi style baths with ice cold, room temperature and one hot. Very therapeutic! Breakfast area has a see through floor overlooking ancient Roman ruins. 10-15 minute walk puts you in the center of everything. Great hotel

We just returned from a holiday in Andalucia and the Palacio del Bailio was the highlight. Such a beautiful building, with excellent staff and everything was just right. I would highly recommend it. The attention to customer service was superior to other places we visited in the same region.

Conveniently situated, allowing to visit all the main cultural sites by foot, very quiet area. This old palace is well maintained; through the restaurant floor, one can admire ruins of pre-history. Fantastic!

Room tip: overlooking the inside square

We were in a spacious suite. Was amazing and a great value. We received a complementary upgrade, also had complimentary wine and tapas. Staff was amazing and the hotel is beautiful. Short walk to the Mesquite and other sites. Only stayed one night, wish it was two. Beautiful and relaxing, hotel has a spa and is built over Roman ruins you can visit. Complimentary breakfast was excellent.

Room tip: Stayed in a lovely suite

Beautiful boutique palace hotel with Roman foundations on show. Lovely gardens with a small but nice swimming pool in the shade of trees. We had a large room with sitting area and separate dressing room. Only problems were that often there was no one at reception (this was the case when we arrived) and they forgot to clean our room on both days.

Room tip: We had 108. Junior suite. very large with decent sitting area, dressing room and spacious bathroom (bath and separate shower)

This is a very pleasant hotel - nice gardens and with some Roman ruins in the basement too. We arrived and they said that they would park our car (27 euros per day - London prices!) - was offered a welcome drink but no attempt to show us around the hotel. It has a small but nice pool, which we didn’t use as it was raining here for our stay. The odd bit is really the bathroom. Large bath (why! - who uses a bath in a hotel these days) very small shower cubicle which has a glass partition to the toilet. When you sit on the toilet your knees are right up against the shower glass cubicle, you have to leave the door open to get in and out, very badly designed, also no room around the sinks for toiletries. The room itself was nice and bright (202) with huge windows over looking the gardens and pool. The reception was never properly staffed and we always had to que up to get our key or ask for something. The other point to note is that this is not in the centre of town. It’s about a 20 minute walk and if you are going to walk back again it is uphill, please note if you are infirm or elderly and walking is not your thing. Didn’t bother us as we like to walk, it it is definitely not central to shops etc. The staff were very pleasant and as it was a celebration for us when we were here they kindly gave us a bottle of champagne which was a very nice touch. Overall we liked it, bed comfortable too.
