I honestly do not think this hotel could do any more to be perfect. The location in Cordoba doesn't matter too much as the city centre is small so its close (within walking distance) to all main attractions/tourist spots. However the hotel is far enough away that it feels secluded. The hotel, as with most buildings in Cordoba is built around patios which offer different areas to relax, eat and drink etc. Each patio offers something slightly different. We ate a lunch in one patio and a dinner in another....the food is as good as any restaurant in the area. The main restaurant in the centre of the hotel is built on a glass floor to highlight ruins from the 1st century which were discovered below the property and have been preserved beautifully. The hotel offers a free tour daily to walk among the ruins to all guests.

The rooms are nicely decorated, clean, modern, spacious etc.....everything you would expect from the quality hotel. The hotel also has roman baths which are free to use for all guests and offer a further different experience. I would highly recommend booking in.

Normally higher quality hotels have a stuffy feeling about them however this hotel has a nice balanced atmosphere. The staff are incredibly friendly and made our experience even better.

I cannot wait to return.

This hotel is located in an old palace, which happens to be built over Roman ruins (that you can see through a plexiglass floor in the dining room - how cool is that?). Breakfast was fantastic, staff was courteous, and while it was difficult to find the hotel with GPS in the narrow streets of Cordoba, it turned out to be a lovely oasis. From the hotel, it's about a ten-minute walk to the church and other historic sites, which makes it far enough from the tourist crowds but close to everything.

From the minute we walked in, everything was simply taken care of for us - luggage, car, beverages, etc. Definitely a pampering experience - would love to go back!

Beauty, beauty all around you!! This hotel is absolutely a visual feast, especially if you like Moorish architecture and ambiance. Truly a lovely experience. The interior choices and materials were just great and we were all impressed.

A few issues, some not so essential, some more so: The hotel is run by a very young staff, which is OK, but the true professionalism is missing. Like they don't quite understand the finesse of service.
We had dinner one evening and 1/2 the food was not impressive, be basically had to send back our 'fruit salad' desert, which looked like the fruit from our breakfast buffet. I also felt the garden could have been attended better, loads of weeds, dirt and fallen leaves. And one thing that turned us all off: when we asked for another bottle of water in our room, we were told that the first bottle was a courtesy bottle, and the rest we could get from the mini-bar. Just felt stingy.....in hotels of this class you should get fresh water in your room every day. We are not talking champagne here.....
On the good side, lots of gorgeous places to sit, the pool was delightful, the spa OK, the bath products divine!!!, the breakfast lovely, the valet parking helpful, the Roman ruins under the glass dining room floor a nice surprise, Great shower and water pressure (I always find this important), Great attention to design details, beautiful sitting room, where you can swap books with other travelers.
Most important and last impression! - a REALLY gorgeous hotel, small, intimate and just delish!!!!

We stayed here in 2008 and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately it was only for a night... and we wished we could have stayed longer. The manager (can't remember his name) was American and so great, made us feel special and took great care of us. The pool was so so lovely and the roman baths were out of this world. We were 3 women travelling together and I can easily say, that this was the hi-light of our trip to Andalucia. Highly recommend it - don't stay anywhere else - true gem in Cardoba with stunning rooms!

This is an amazing property perfectly located in the old town of Córdoba: far enough from the day-trippers who don't venture far from the Mezquita, yet within a few minutes walking distance to anywhere.

The gardens are modest but really nice and relaxing, unless you have someone smoking up a storm next to you. They need to disallow smoking in the garden.

Make sure to take a look at the restaurant's floor looking into the roman ruins.

We stayed two nights at this wonderful hotel. The building is beautiful, the decor a stunning mix of modern and ancient, there is a gorgeous inner courtyard with a pool, the service and staff are extremely attentive. There are Roman ruins from the third Century visible throught the glass floor of the dining room. Also a beautiful spa with underground Roman Baths. We had the standard room which is very small but ultra-modern, the bedding was great and the bathroom very spacious with glass-enclosed shower and tub. We had a lovely dinner of tapas on the outer courtyard in the moonlight. The hotel is 10-15 minute walk through old Cordoba to all the sights. We loved it so much we wanted to stay at their sister hotel in Seville but it was all booked up! A la proxima vez!

I arrived at the hotel quite late...what a wonderful young receptionist greeted me! She showed me to my room, helped me with a city map and escorted me to the fabulous restaurant in the hotel, Senzone. So worth the trip. I tried green gazpacho with a poached tomato in the center and the freshest oysters swimming on top...with a hint of strawberry! The chef, he is an artist! The restaurant has a glass floor and one can gaze down at the historic roman ruins the Palacio was built on. I still cannot get over the feeling of history, the beauty and chic interior of this hotel, the exceptional restaurant, the comfy bed, the elegant pool...and, to add to this experience, in the downstairs area, original roman baths exist. You need a reservation because it is a smallish space. You descend on a circular, narrow stairway...the water is bubbling and gurgling...you start with the warm bath, then the icy bath, finally the hot bath...and start over. What fun! I appreciated the staff, very professional and helpful. I loved wandering Cordoba and miss this spanish jewel. One night, I had white almond gazpacho with bits of apple and raisin, at a little taberna called The Chef's Table...down in the old quarter.
I totally recommend this lovely hotel and I plan on returning next year!

Room Tip: I had a standard room that let out into the inner courtyard...which was fine except for saturday nig...
