“Good location - otherwise nothing special”
Reviewed May 3, 2009

Hotel has no elevator to the reception. Rooms were quit small and the bathroom was little outdated. There was a great view to the plaza but otherwise not really worth the price.

Had a couple of nights here in Feb 09, $37 per double room (2 people). It was clean and right on the Plaza Tendillas, the main hub for shopping and restaurants, and 300m from the Mosque. Rooms were small but this seems to be common to all budget hotels in main Spanish cities. Lots of noise throughout the night from horn blowing, 2 stroke motorbikes, delivery trucks etc but otherwise fine and good value.

.... but parking is horrible and expensive. First we were given a room to the "patio" - a dark, inner yard, but the receptionist kindly moved us to room 407 with views to the plaza and light and sun. Big bathroom. Clean. We had breakfast in a small bar just across the hotel. Walked in and paid 50.- incl. IVA.

  • Liked — The location close to the Mezquita
  • Disliked — Lack of near by parking

Stayed here for 1 night in Oct 08. Only 55 Eur for 2 people without breakfast. This from only walking in. Rooms were spotless clean, however, smell of stale smoke really spoiled it for me. Our room looked into a central courtyard, nothing to look at but had to keep window closed because of some putrid smells coming from the courtyard. The walls are paper thin my parents were travelling in with us and we could here everything from conversations to bathroom activities. However, I would have stayed an extra night had I got there room which overlooks the central plaza smashing view. You can see all life passing by.

There is a small cafe restaurant I have to recommend. You'd pass it by without noticing. When come out of the hotel to the plaza you'll see a fountain with a mounted horse follow the direction of the tail of the horse to the street directly on the far side of the plaza. Go down this street about 50 yards on the right hand side the Ox tail is to die for and the broad beans are also fantastic. Not everybodys cup of tea, but it is good food and really cheap.

Again when you come out of the hotel you'll see a corte de ingles around the corner continue on this pedestrian street down the hill and you'll find some interesting little streets and architecture. We only scratched the surface of Cordoba. But, there is definitely a lot to discover there. A place I will have to return to. I may not stay in the hotel again. Unless I was guaranteed a room looking into the Plaza.

Also there is a clock tower on top of the hotel which goes off every fifteen minutes.

This small hotel is situated just off a large square on the edge of the historic centre, and close to main tourist information point. We walked past it once, because it was 1 star and the entrance looked unpromising! However, once we found that all the small hotels near the Mesquite (Cathedral/Mosque) were pre-booked we went back for a look.

You have to walk up a flight to reception, and an elderly lady was cleaning energetically (a good sign). Don't expect a lot of charm, but this is probably the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed at - at any price. Our room was larger than we expected, bathroom adequate (just a bit tired) and the price unbelievable.

Breakfast was pre-packed but fine (for €4) and coffee excellent. They even have internet access for a small charge.

This hotel is situated in a main square in Cordoba near to the Mezquita and the Cathedral and is ideal for a one or two day stay. The rooms are very basic but clean.
