If you stay in Cordoba for a while, you will discover that local people usually go out for tapas very often. Thus, we like to go for restaurants that offer perfect combination of homemade food at a not very expensive price. Gongora offers for me the best combination in the town (not surprising, I have been for tapas to this place many many times while I am in Cordoba). Do not miss the fried fish (I recommend to order it with lemon flavour), the "flamenquin" (if you are lucky, you will be served a huge one) and the so called "hunting meat". The also serve a really tasty homemade "Fino", the traditional wine from the province of Cordoba (be careful, with a glass you can get easily drunk :) ). All the food is really Cordoba traditional, and has a homemade flavor. And you will be surprise how cheap it is! Do not be afraid to order several drinks (as you may be in expensive restaurants). 100% for visitors and tourists.

Very nice food and the landlord made an effort to make us welcome but it felt a bit like an old man's pub. However, we went early in the evening and I suspect things got a bit noisier as the hours passed.

We loved it. A really fine local taberna with no airs and graces. Excellent (and not expensive) food served by friendly and patient staff with no fuss. The atmosphere is just what one would hope hope for in somewhere used as a convivial meeting place by local people. This is what relaxed eating (and tapas) should be all about in Spain. We'll be back.

This a super place, where the locals go, for their tapas.
The choice is good.

I have come many times to this place with my family.
It is a very traditional place in Cordoba. One of those places that know how to keep the traditional taste.
They are famous for their wine, cochifrito or boquerones al limon among others.
They make an art out of deep frying. Nothing fatty, always very well done.

It has a couple of extra rooms for group reservations which is quite typical at Spanish tabernas
