Owner description: The Palace of Viana is a lived house until the end of 20th century by noble families but with a great popular flavor instead. One of its main attractiveness are the "patios" and the garden that make it be known as Museum of the Patios. Indoor and outdoor are perfectly integrated, giving to the palace an original harmony. Among the collections stand out paintings, tapestries, leather and ceramic tiles among others.

“Tour book did not do justice to this museum”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 1, 2013

Brief blurb in the guidebook didn't promise much, but we had some time to kill - darned good thing, because this was well worth the visit. A series of 12 patios, each one a tiny jewel, surrounding the old Palace of the Marquesses de Viana. Take the tour of the house to see some extremely good art, tapestries, period furniture, leatherwork, and an extensive collection of tile coats of arms dating back to the 13th century.

“Don't miss these gardens”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2013

We were visiting the Cordoba patio festival in May, and it's only when I saw all the taxis advertising this garden, that I thought it might be something worth seeing. I wish we had had the time to spend all day here. The 12 patios were beautiful, so serene and enchanting. Considering it's location, in the middle of a city, and even with lots of tourists around, it was still a very peaceful place. Every patio within the palace was quite different in it's 'feeling'. A small entrance fee, and worth every euro.

“overpriced”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2013

OK but overpriced compared with other attractions for just looking at a few patios and really not worth the walk away from the main tourist area.

“Wonderful”

Just excellent, if you enjoy secret spaces and the synthesis of plants and good buildings. No fewer than thirteen patios set around a grand old house on the outskirts of the old city
