Owner description: The Palace of Viana is a lived house until the end of 20th century by noble families but with a great popular flavor instead. One of its main attractiveness are the "patios" and the garden that make it be known as Museum of the Patios. Indoor and outdoor are perfectly integrated, giving to the palace an original harmony. Among the collections stand out paintings, tapestries, leather and ceramic tiles among others.

Beautifully laid out patio gardens with an intimate and personal feel. A great counterpoint to the exuberant scale and ornament of the Alcazar.

I was a bit bummed to find out I had to pay €5 to visit the gardens, as there was no student discount. I think that's a bit high for something like this, but the gardens are beautiful, and if you're in the area it's worth checking out.

We paid 5euro to visit the 12 patios and thought the palace is a little gem. Although we would have liked to have the seen the house too we choice not too. To do so its 8euros and you must go round in a guide-led group which is only given in Spanish.

However, do not let this put you off just seeing the patios as they are beautiful and came a close second to the Mesquita in our sites that we saw in Cordoba.

Each patio has its own theme and offer tranquillity. We took our time and took plenty of photo's.

The place is about 10-15 minutes work for the Mequita.

We visited the 12 Courtyards, not the Palace, and had a very enjoyable morning. The entry fee to the 12 Courtyards and the garden was €5 per person and was definitely worth the entry price. The Courtyards, or Patios, span 5 centuries and give the visitor a real feel of the changing patio designs of Cordoba.

We very much enjoyed the morning visit to this charming house and museum. The tour was worth the admission and then there was time to solitude of the gardens. Not really suited to young children.
