Decided to go to this place which is just outside Cordoba. The visit starts with a trip to the nearby and brand-new museum, which is simply amazing in terms of content, architectural design and quality. The museum is free to enter and they play you a 10 min film in English about the history of the ancient palace ruins. The lecture theatre is first class, with air conditioning and proper leather seats. The design of the place captured by imagination, it's easy to see how the museum won a design award in 2012.

It's then a 5 min bus ride up (2.10 Euros rtn) the hill to the archeological site which is again free entry. We went in November so it wasn't too hot, i'd imagine it gets pretty roasting hot up there May-Sept. Well-worth a visit.

This is a really interesting site, nice museum and an archaeological site in a fantastic location. Was slightly disappointed that the central hall was closed for renovation, which no one mentioned at any point, but even so it was a fabulous place.

We stopped at the this site on the way to Seville. It is the EU museum of the year for 2012. There is a museum and excellent video presentation in English. Entrance is free. Brillian guide called Rafael who comes on the bus up to the site and will give you an excellent and informative tour of the old moorish ruins for 5 euros. Raf you are too cheap mate for the excellent amount of knowledge you have and the fascinating historical story you tell. Highly recommended.
