We stayed at this hotel for 1 night during our Andalucia expedition! Well, the location is superb, I have to admit. Just walk across the street, and you are inside the ancient walls and the Jewish quarter after 100m. But Cordoba is a strange town. You have to dig into the narrow streets a while before you grasp that you've fallen far away from your target. Having the best map doesn't help much. Besides, although youngsters seem to communicate in English, do NOT depend on their answers, because they have no idea of where monuments are, or what their names might be. The whole city smells even in mid-October, what a pity! The hotel, as part of a chain, does try to keep up to the standards, but in vain. The receptionist was quite rude while expressing that there were no smoking rooms. Not only was his English inadequate, but he was also reluctant. He made gestures, scrambled the reservation document indicating we had reserved a smoking room, etc. Maybe it is the company's fault, I don't care. If I have reserved a smoking room 6 months ago and payed in advance for it, I have to have that room, nothing can change that. Well, his ingenious solution was to say "you smoke if you want, what can I do?". Yes, in fact. Noone can do anything about it, but I hate breaking the rules, what about that? All in all, I was so upset that I did not look further into anything. Breakfast was OK. The room was OK, but a bit worn-out. Parking was too expensive and too tight. I'll file a complaint about this smoking room issue for sure, but I would not go stay there anyway. In fact, the room we took, smelled of smoke ... not only that, the city itself smells of feces! They charge you 8€ for the Mezquita, which is a cathedral built upon a mosque, but it is not worth seeing. Besides, there are many tourist traps in this town, especially the restaurants. Hard to beleive, but I advise everyone to stay away from this town during their trip to Andalucia. A 2-hours day visit would be more than enough.

This hotel is in perfect, walking distance location to main attractions of Cordoba. Also you do not have to worry about the car because they have an underground garage. The garage is thight, but if you are driving in Spain you can manage it.The room was clean although the working AC in the room was blowing cool but not too fresh air. I think they need some filters in AC to be changed. Internet in the lobby, free for limited time (about10-15min).Thanks

The hotel is very confortable. It is located close to a main street (easy car access) but it is also close to the historic city center. It`s 10 minutes walk from the Mosque.

We recently stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. We wanted to be near the old part of town, as we wanted to visit La Mezquita. We had hired a car and this hotel turned out to be perfect! It's located just on the edge of the old part of town which means we could walk everywhere .... but without having to navigate and drive through the narrow streets. The hotel was clean and modern and very reasonably priced.

I would definitely return to this hotel and would recommend it, especially if you are driving to Cordoba.

The Califa is a perfect spot in Cordoba, on the edge of the confusing medieval streets of the old city so that driving to and from it is easy. It is no more than a 10-minute stroll to the Alcazar and the Mesquita mosque, and the Juderia district is at the doorstep. Absolutely perfect location for sightseeing. The rooms are fine, the staff was terrific, the on-site parking cheaper than public lot alternatives nearby.

Located about a 15 minute walk south from the train station and just beyond the north edge of the old jewish quarter, the hotel's placement is a good compromise between the historic sights and intercity transport. We did not need to take taxis nor figure out the local buses. While the hotel is part of the NH chain it feels more like an Ibis, with its small room, adequate bath and lack of services. There is a nice, cozy courtyard where one can relax. I can recommend this place for budget travellers like us and is a really good value if you book ahead through the NH website.

the hotel is a little scary form the outside, it looks like a tiny 10 room hotel, but there is a hiddn second building in the back which accounts for a dditional rooms. we were in the xsecond buidling, and seemingly were the only guests on the floor of that buidling. the rooms were nice and clean, although the ac was weak in one room. the bathrooms are much nicer in the main building, but they were fine. the towels wre big and plush. the location is excelletn, 5 min from the historical cordoba. the free lobby intenet didin't work, so the receptionist called the provider and i spent 15 minutes on the phone with the provider until it was fixed. when we complained about the ac the next morning, the receptionist didn't care or even apologize. cordoba is a very ugly city, and i wouldn't stay there again.
