Albucasis is probably the best hotel we used during our fortnight in Andalusia. The entrance through a tunnel, into a charming courtyard and on to the lobby is striking. Quiet, on a narrow side street, I sat in their courtyard to write letters. The best part is the room decor...very spartan, no TV, just two beds with a window (with blinds) looking to the courtyard.

Tried the breakfast once but preferred other options during the rest of our stay. Lots of good eating and drinking places nearby.

This is a no-frills very basic hotel. If you are looking for an excellent location in Cordoba very competitively priced then you have a great option here. No luxury, just the bare necessities, clean and well kept in general. The staff is helpful and are doing a good job. It is perfect if you want to maximize your time exploring the city and only plan to sleep in the hotel room.

If you are looking for a very basic, clean hotel with little or no ambiance, this is the hotel for you. Nice courtyard, but our room did not have any character. Service was neither rude nor pleasant.

A nice small hotel in the heart of the old Jewish quarter of Cordabe - just a few steps from everything.
The room is of reasonable size with very basic amenities. If you are looking for luxury or fancy decoration - this is not the place for you. Our room had a nice view of the hotel's lovely patio. Didn't try their breakfast.
We chose this hotel for three reasons:
1. The location - as mentioned above
2. The price - they don't raise their price during the weekend (while other hotels do), which makes it a good value for money for weekend stays. (I'm not sure about weekdays)
3. They have their own parking. (very hard to get in and out...)

Getting there was a little adventure. As it is tucked among one way streets and allies, we came equipped with dirving direction obtained from Via Micheiln. Well, that led us into the wrong direction of a one way alley. A nice gentlman walked my husband to the hotel, while I watched the car. The hotel gave him a map with direction (nothing similar to Viamichelin's) - and this time it worked. The lesson to be learned - when making a reservation in such places - ask the hotel for detailed instructions.

And finally - do I have to add that Cordoba is beautiful?

Our room was clean and comfortable, with a nice bathroom. There's a very good continental breakfast for €6 - you could probably get better value elsewhere, for example at the tetería just round the corner. The location in the Judería is excellent, which probably justifies the room rate of €80 per night, and generally quiet (although there are some church bells, as other reviewers have mentioned). Sound insulation within the hotel is not very good. The shaded patio at the front of the hotel is a definite plus point.

Driving there is OK if you follow the yellow tourist signs, which are accurate although rather few and far between. You have to go past a 'no entry except for authorised vehicles' sign and through some very narrow streets - we were just beginning to think we were lost, when we found it right in front of us. There's a secure car park right under the hotel for €12 per night. Fortunately Córdoba can easily be explored on foot.

Our room was decorated sparcely, but was clean. Our linen was lovely. The only exception was the soiled shower curtain. When we asked for it to be replaced, they did not do it. We had a nice view out our window over the rooftops of the buildings and also a nice view of the Mesquita. It was a quiet room, good value for the money, and we were quite content. The staff, unfortunately, were not friendly. They were helpful when we asked and business-like.

We stayed here one night and did not enjoy the experience. We cannot fathom why this property is rated so highly and why it was recommended in Karen Brown´s book.

Our room was so spare that I have stayed in university dorms that had more amenities. I realize that this is only a two star property, but I expected more - like shampoo, a hair dryer, a safe, some form of rug (rather than cold, sterile tiling). Also, the room lacked sufficient toilet paper and the air conditioning was spotty.

Moreover, the staff was indifferent to say the least.
