Hidden down a narrow alley with a not very welcoming front door but once inside it is wonderful. The two Carmen's provide a great welcome to this small and very different hotel. The rooms are around an inner courtyard and there is a pretty roof garden for sunbathing after sightseeing in Cordoba approx10 minutes walk away Lovely breakfast and great recommendations for dinner. the owner and staff are so friendly and helpful and want you to see the best of Cordoba

I am not sure how anyone could honestly describe the hotel or the the rooms as beautiful. The hotel is a budget hotel, NOT a top-tier hotel despite its high rating on this site. The staff speaks fluent English and is very accommodating and helpful.
That said:
Room: the size of our top-priced room was large. However, the room was sparsely and cheaply furnished. I happen to love contemporary, but this was spartan college-dorm style, not upper end minimalistic. Clean but very basic.
Bathroom: Again, spartan. Functional, furbished with low-end fixtures. Not a high-end bathroom.
Courtyard: You have to be kidding me: gold bean bag chairs, large gravel for flooring, and to me, tacky plants and "sculpture".
Price: we paid about $120 US less than a double room at Balcon de Cordoba. I would recommend spending the extra $120 US if you are staying more than one night in Cordoba.
Location: Not bad. We had no trouble finding the hotel as the taxi let's you off on the corner and you just need to walk down the street. This area is in my opinion a "must see" and there are some good-very good restaurants within 4 blocks of the hotel.
Staff: speak excellent English (the best on our 21 trip in Spain) and are very helpful and nice. I personally think that the staff could easily obtain jobs at the top hotels in Cordoba, or wherever else they chose based on their professionalism and proficiency with English.
Breakfast: Okay. Not sure why it gets such rave reviews, other than that it is included in the room rate.

Dear traveler,
I appreciate all the time you took to spread your word about Viento10.

About the hotel decor, the patio in particular, mention that you have confused some old ashlars appeared in the renovation of the building with sculptures. Moreover, what you saw and called ‘gravel’ is the cobblestone used in Portugal on the floors, courtyards houses and palaces, sidewalks, etc. In this very aesthetic, simple and organic way of pavement, you have seen only gravel.

Your criticism does not help us to improve, because our philosophy it is based on the simplicity and serenity (what you call ‘spartan dorm style’) and we believe in it.
Finally, the hotel staff asks me to thank you for your favorable comments towards them and they also know that they could work in many other hotels but they are happy to work in Viento10 because it is a place with soul, also for the staff.

Maybe for someone who values things by their supposed economic value, intangible things in life that make us happy do not matter, but we value that in Viento10. A lot.

Regards,

Gerardo Holgado

Hidden in a small alley. Quite difficult to find. A lovely small boutique modern hotel. Lovely friendly and helpful owner and staff. In a very good position for the sites of the old city. Great breakfasts.
Lovely bright room overlooking the courtyard.

If you are looking for a noisy hotel with lots of life then don't stay at Viento 10. If however, like us, you value peace and tranquility especially after a busy day visiting the sites then you should stay here!

Viento 10 is quite easy to find unlike the hotels in the myriad of narrow streets around the Mezquita and as we were driving that was a big plus. It also has parking close by, another big plus.

The hotel has been converted from an old building but is very modern and fresh in style. We stayed two nights and had different rooms, our choice. Both rooms had great design and themed colours.

Nice as this hotel itself is it is really made special by the staff. Carmen on reception was a joy to deal with, always helpful and informative and Gerardo, the owner, is a perfect gentleman.

The breakfast at Viento 10 is wonderful and not to be missed! As with everything about the hotel, it is the attention to detail that makes it so special, carefully thought out and beautifully presented.

We have stayed in many hotels across Spain and I can say without hesitation that this is our favourite. We would be delighted to come back and hopefully we will!

Dear guest,

Reviews like yours leave us with a big smile in our faces. We are thrilled to know Viento10 is your favorite spanish hotel!

Although we are not located in the Jewish Quarter, a lot of people find our location convenient for their holidays in Córdoba: within a short walk to the historic center but not inside and easy to park the car.

Thank you for your beautiful words towards the staff and the hotel. It was a pleasure to have you as guests. We hope to welcome you again in the future.

Warm regards from all the Staff,

The only tricky bit was to get there by car. After that, all went smoothly, from the welcome drink at the reception to the beautifully refurbished room and bathroom. But the highlight was the breakfast: no ordinary buffet here, but personalised service by a lovely lady. Still remember the strawberry purée, toasted bread with savoury and sweet spreads, freshly squeezed oranges... Would have loved staying more than just one night!

We stayed at the Viento 10 for one night at the end of May, 2014. The hotel is located on a small street with no traffic, about a 15-minute walk from the Cathedral-Mosque of Cordoba. The rooms are arrayed around an inside courtyard, where you are soothed by the sounds of gently running water. The owner has lovingly restored the property, giving this beautiful, old structure a contemporary vibe.

We stayed in a superior room on the second floor. The room was spacious with high ceilings, ample seating, and a terrifically comfortable king-size bed. The decor was modern and tasteful. The bathroom was large, well appointed, and attractive.

Given our limited stay, we opted to include breakfast, which was reasonably priced and a splendid treat. Served at tables around the courtyard, it was a Spanish style breakfast, with fresh breads, an assortment of spreads and cheese, delicious, freshly squeezed orange juice, and the usual outstanding Spanish cafe con leche.

The on-site manager during our stay was Carmen. A vivacious and charming young woman, she was the epitome of a good hostess, offering us welcoming drinks, her knowledge of local eateries, and assistance with a reservation at our next destination.

I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking to savor a bit of old Andalusia, with the comforts and style of contemporary European design.
