“Great place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 9, 2013 via mobile

This is a lovely hotel with staff to match. They want to please and we enjoyed all their recommendations, Night visit to the mesqitas, flamenco nearby and good restaurants. We loved the roof top with a wonderful view over the city including nearby mosque as well as the mesqitas. This was a friendly meeting point to watch the sunset. Strongly recommended.

Location one minute form the mesquita but on a quiet street, reception very individualized, room, amenities, breakfast, roof top terrace, all of it was better than many 5 star hotels.
Advice> book directly with the hotel as a booking site told me the room was a junior suite which i paid for but the site booked a lesser room, was not happy about that. book early, only 10 rooms.
Front desk gave very good recomendations for dinner and directions. theres an elevator whcih is amazing for such a small hotel.

Room Tip: Ask the hotel, rooms are named, so you probably can see them on their web site.

I enjoyed this hotel immensely. It was within 100m of the Mesquita, in a very quiet street. It has a lovely garden/restaurant area for eating or having a drink. The room was sufficiently large. The staff were extremely helpful. A great boutique hotel.

i have stayed there after having reviewed the comment of others on tripadvisor .
every thing has been said already , a really nice , charming small hotel with very kind employees.
they will do all what is possible to make you feel comfortable and at home from the moment you open the door till the check-out.
the only negative point , was that the room assigned to us had very small window with a view on a white wall ... 50 cm far from the window , as well as the window are very high , you can't see through.
i would also recommend the management to have the possibility to have a drink at night on the terrace as it is such a beautiful spot with a great view on the Cathedral.

My Wife & I stayed for 3 nights at the Balcon de Cordoba based upon previous reviews and I have to say that this hotel certainly met our requirements for service and cleanliness. On arrival we were offered a glass of wine, shown around the hotel and then taken to our room. It is a small ten room hotel with a magnificent courtyard upon entering the establishment. No complaints regarding the size nor comfort of our room. Clearly the intention is to provide a service which will encourage people to return and recommend the hotel and in this respect they have achieved success. Well located just walking distance from the Mezquita cathedral and other points of interest.

a hidden boutique gem, the service is amazing, highly trained staff but maintaining such an incredibly welcoming atmosphere.

rooms are gorgeous and spacious, while the main building makes it feel very private with lots of light flooding in.

definitely check out the roof top with stunning views of cordoba. cannot wait to return.

Room Tip: terraced rooms

We stayed at the Balcon for our visit to Cordoba. Really glad we choose this hotel. The location is excellent. Although the hotel is quite challenging to find amongst the narrow streets of the city we got there and was met by one of the hotel staff who took our car and parked it in a secure car park.

We checked in and were really impressed with the decor and design of the entire hotel. It's lovely. Lots of great modern touches mixed in with old remains that were found during the hotel renovation. The staff offered us a tour of the hotel and showed us the may pretty terraces and the lovely roof top patio.

Our room was stunning. Lovely features and decorated in pastel shades. We even had a bath in the actual bedroom. AC worked well, the room was spotless. Lots of nice white fluffy towels in the bathroom and a TV in both the sitting room and the bedroom. Roses and petals were on the bed - a lovely touch.....

We enjoyed the roof top terrace at sunset with a gin and tonic, the views are amazing!!

We slept very well, considering its in the town centre, the wooden shutters work really well to block out and noise and night.

The next morning we enjoyed a lovely fresh breakfast sitting on the patio under the 150yr old orange tree....

Although not cheap, this hotel is in a great location and is a lovely intimate boutique hotel. I would strongly recommend it to anyone who is visiting Cordoba.

Negative points..only a couple of very minor ones, no tissues in the bathroom and the cupboards were too short for a maxi type ladies dress.......would have liked to have seen a coffee/tea making facility in the room of this calibre but know that in Spain this isn't usually the case...
