“Ultimate view of orange trees”
Reviewed March 18, 2010

Hospitality at it's best, service excellent and ambiance is ultimate. Rows of orange trees infront of the hotel are soothing and unique experience to watch the nature. It's a good place to relax and unwind.

We got a good internet rate on this and having stayed in Hesperias before, we went for it.

The location is an interesting one: most of Cordoba is north of the river, and the hotel is to the south. To get to the Mesquita and the city centre is a short walk across the roman bridge; the station is more like 30 minutes. Not a problem in February, but worth bearing in mind at the height of the Andalucian summer.

It was the first night open after refurbishment - work was continuing on building an extension to the hotel - so there were a few teething problems: wifi was only running for the second night of the stay, the rooftop bar was closed, the heating in our room failed (but was quickly fixed), and the smell of fresh paint was ever present! However, the hotel has obviously been extensively refitted and will have overcome the temporary problems by the time of writing (several weeks later).

Rooms - good and big, king size bed: nice view over the river to the Mesquita and city. The restaurant was very good and reasonably priced (we ate there on our second night), and the breakfast was a fine buffet (Hesperia breakfasts are always good).

This hotel is across the river from the Mezquita, which means each morning, you must enter the city in the medieval fashion, a short walk under the Calahorra Tower and over the Roman bridge. A most enjoyable way to greet this most mysterious of cities.
The hotel had nice modern rooms, with attractive washrooms and comfortable beds.

Stayed here with spouse for 5 day convention. This is no where close to being a 4 star hotel. First the good features:
Location is perfect, near Roman walking bridge and across from Mesquita
Staff friendly and helpful
Room large and clean
Free room wi-fi but signal week and very slow
Negatives:
This hotel needs a complete renovation from updated furnishings, painting of entire facility, and less worn bedcoverings.
Few amenities: no coffee maker, alarm clock and soap in bathroom enough for 1-2 hand washes.
The TV is probably 15 years old .
Air conditioning is sporadic.
The upstairs pub looks as if it has been closed for quite some time, too bad as it has best few of the historic part of the city
We had full breakfast, but menu same every day and not expecially good.
No fitness facilities
We are experienced travelers in our 50´s but we would not choose this hotel again.

We found this hotel on the internet for 55 euros a night per room. We were given adjoining rooms so our daughter was right beside us. Our room had a huge double bed, a desk, mini bar (that was quite reasonable) and a nice bathroom with very hot well pressured water. Our daughter had a twin room that was very nice as well.
We opted for the breakfast and this was only 10 euros for a great choice of healthy and non healthy options in a nice setting. We also got a break on our car parking in the garage underneath when we took the breakfast.

we stayed for 2 nights in August this year at the time of the flamenco festival. boy oh boy Cordoba was hot, 43 degs and this hotel had a small splash pool which we jumped into pronto. the hotel is comfortable and clean. we stayed room only and did not eat there in the evenings either. its in the perfect place just opposite the old town. a bridge links across the river which was in full spate! unusual i was told. don't pay to park there. it was 15 euros for just 12 hours. we found plenty of room on the street at the side and rear of the hotel which was perfectly safe and quiet.

Stayed here for 2 nights early in August. Ideally situated to walk across nicely renovated bridge to old town - 15 minutes away. Room spacious, clean and quiet with free safe and useful minibar, beds a bit hard. Small pool with complimentary towels, limited number of sunbeds but people generally only stayed for a short time, so not a problem.
Friendly helpful staff, perhaps partly because we spoke Spanish.
At over 10 Euros each, breakfast was disappointing, with hindsight would have gone to one of the cafes nearby instead.
Hotel has own car park but we managed to park on the road free of charge.
We'd be happy to use this hotel again if we revisited Córdoba.
