“Superb and unpretentious!”
Reviewed September 11, 2012

Now this place has got it down. So good I went back a second time. A local Cordoban friend recommended to me. One thing I hate dining out in Spain is the old-school, white-tablecloth, rude waiter experience, particularly when the food often doesn't live up to the restaurant's image (see El Caballo Rojo for example). So a place like Garum is the complete opposite of that - great food, relaxed and friendly waiters and no ego. I loved it! If this is the future of Spanish dining, the country is in safe hands!

“Delicious!”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

What a find! An unprepossessing bar serving spectacular cuisine. We had two local pork dishes which melted in the mouth. A lovely twist on fried aubergines amongst a friendly crowd watching Italy v England Euro 2012. Bliss!!

“Amazing food! Not to be missed.”
Reviewed July 7, 2012

Our family had dinner at Garum 2.1 tonight and the food was heavenly. Best tapas we have had so far in Spain. We were there early (20:30) so we had the place to ourselves. The waiter was extremely helpful in describing the various dishes and suggesting things we might like. Had the oxtail stew and grilled tuna along with a variety of tapas. Every dish was a delight and the presentation was lovely as well. Simple, informal dining room. A great value for the exquisite food.

“Best suckling pig in Andalucia”
Reviewed June 20, 2012

Having now eaten here half a dozen times or more in the last 2 years, we now time our 3.5 hour car drive to end with the reward of a late lunch of cochifrito over a bottle of chilled verdejo wine.

The bar/restaurant is situated on the corner of Calle San Fernando a gentle 5 minute stroll from the Mezquita. Remains of the ancient city walls have been preserved inside and the high tables and chairs make for an atmospheric experience when coupled with the immaculately dressed serving team.

The food served is an experimental take on traditional classics with other inspired ideas.

The cochofrito must to be tried as its beautifully tenderly slow cooked meat surrounded by a gentle yet crisp crust of skin without the over saltiness so often found elsewhere.

Another beautiful tapa is the potato pasta wrapped prawn, deep fried and served to dip into a softly boiled Quails egg - sublime.

Even for the non adventurous, trying unfamiliar dishes is a rewarding experience and the restaurant offers a few taster menus for those unfamiliar with the dishes.

Service is prompt and the drinks list is extensive with Gin and Tonivs highly recommended and served in huge fish bowl glasses.

Food is served from midday until late and I have risked heart burn on more than one ocassion by stopping for a sneaky cochifrito just before midnight on the way back to our hotel.

Try them out - you will be delighted.

“Cordoba cuisine delight”
Reviewed May 7, 2012

Five couples dined here on consecutive nights and we loved it.our first night was a tapas menu, the taste of cordoba and each dish delighted, the cordoba red wine was excellent and our waiter friendly and helpful. The next night we asked the same welcoming waiter to order for us and his menu, a degustation style was delectable with courses of delicately presented prawns, clams, suckling pig, grilled vegetables, chicken and tender oxtail, with the same wine and then followed by a selection of divine desserts to share...all for 22 euros a head. We were so taken with this dining experience we had our photo taken with the waiter. This was a magnificent dining highlight for all of us.
