We spent two night at Hotel Don Paula. It deserves all the excellent reviews that it gets. The family that runs the place are super helpful, the rooms spacious and clean and complete, the location can't be beat. The video on how to get there driving was incredibly helpful. The price can't be beat. I'd recommend this hotel without a single reservation.

We staid for 3 nights with our 3 and 1/2 yrs old child in this hotel.

It is enough centrally located to be apart from the noise but close to the must see attractions. The room was spotless, well isolated with comfortable beds, hairdryer. They don't serve breakfast which is not uncommon in Cordoba from what we have seen but you have free stuff from the fridge in the room.

To our opinion what sets this hotel aside is the welcoming and the warmth of the family who runs it. They really go an extra mile to help you. Just to give an example, knowing we were with a small child they made us find packages of fruit-juice and choco-milk in the fridge (together with all the candy he also got).

The genuineness of their behaviour made us feel that we were not alone something unpleasant had happened and this, I think, is really rare!

The location is really good, in the Jewish quarter but a bit removed from the fuss. Only 5 minutes walk from the Mesquita, and 5 minutes in the opposite direction to the city center with shopping streets etc.
The hotel is clean and there is nothing to complain about, but it is a fairly plain hotel. We were not stricken by its charm, as we might have been in other hotels in Cordoba.
The service is fine, not all staff speak any English, but we get by. There's no breakfast, not even a cup of coffee, which is a bit of a drawback.
But all in all, it's a good enough pick.

Room Tip: Avoid the ground floor, as you will hear through the wall every word uttered in the reception at all...

We stayed two nights at Don Paula hotel and loved it. This charming family built and owned hotel is in a perfect location, very quiet and close to all the sights. We would definitely return, the owners were so helpful and so nice. If you have a car we recommend parking in their garage. The hotel is a great value . Cordoba is a wonderful city and we wish we could have stayed tree or more nights.

I wasn't expecting much when I looked at this hotel from the outside but was pleasantly surprised when I stepped inside. The hotel is small and run by a couple with two sons and they are really friendly. The parents do not speak any English but the sons do, so not speaking any Spanish is not a problem. The rooms are big and airy and the decor is modern. Lots of information about the bars, restaurants and places to see are available. Also a fairly good map of the old part of Cordoba is available, though you will get lost as the street signage is lamentable! Excellent location close to new and old parts of the city.

We know the two star rating is based on what facilities a hotel provides, BUT, here is a hotel with FIVE star service. We often opt for 4 or 5 star hotels, especially out of season when they have good offers, but we have never had such good personal service before. The room was very clean, comfortable and welcoming. Soft drinks were provided free in the room's mini bar. The hotel was so convenient for walking to both the new and old parts of Cordoba. Where the owners excelled was in their service and helpfulness. Before we arrived we were sent the video of the driving route through the one way system, it was so so helpful. Parking was arranged for us. We were given tips on where to eat and places to visit. Not being our first visit to Cordoba we thought we had seen most of what was on offer, we were planning to spend some more time exploring these, but with the suggestions given to us we able to explore some new areas. The only downside to our stay was that someone drove into and scraped the side of the hire car in the parking area. Thank goodness we didn't scrape on the car insurance and paid the extra 28 euros for full cover! It didn't spoil our experience and with all staff going out of their way to make sure we had a good time in their city, we would certainly return to stay at Hotel Don Paula again.

We stayed at this hotel in February 2013 for 2 nights and were overwhelmed by the friendllness of the staff. They gave us marvelous tips on where to eat and what to see. Furthermore they were extremely helpful in finding an booking a room for us in Seville. We recommend Don Paula for all who prefer a small hotel which gives you the feeling that your comfort matters to the management.
